The disclosure provides a plant of variety NUN 53050 CUP as well as seeds and plants and fruits thereof. NUN 53050 CUP is a parthenocarpic pickling cucumber variety comprising resistance to Cladosporium cucumerinum (Cucumber Scab) and Erysiphe chicoracearum (Powdery Mildew).
SPOTTED WATERMELON PLANTS
The present invention relates to methods of breeding with spotted watermelon, Citrullus lanatus, lines and varieties. More specifically, methods of making homozygous-spotted diploid watermelon lines (HSDL) for use in breeding and methods of making homozygous-spotted tetraploid watermelon lines (HSDL) for use in breeding are described. Further, methods of producing 33%, 66%, or 100% spotted triploid hybrid watermelon plants, as well as methods of producing 50% or 100% spotted diploid hybrid watermelon plants, are described. This invention further relates to markers able to determine the percentage of spotted allele present in spotted watermelon lines and varieties. In addition, this invention relates to new and distinctive lines and varieties of watermelon with a spotted phenotype.

Genetic basis for Pythium resistance
The present invention relates to a Cucumis sativus plant which may comprise a QTL, a copy number variant region, at least two copies of an ERF gene, or a mutation leading to increased expression of an ERF gene, which leads to Pythium resistance. The invention further relates to propagation material suitable for producing such Cucumis sativus plant. The invention also relates to a method for producing such Cucumis sativus plant and to methods for identification and selection of such a plant. In addition, the invention relates to a marker for identification of the QTL or copy number variant region, or for identification of the presence of at least two copies of an ERF gene resulting in Pythium resistance in Cucumis sativus, and to use of said marker. The invention also relates to seed which may comprise the QTL, copy number variant region, at least two copies of an ERF gene, or a mutation leading to increased expression of an ERF gene, which leads to Pythium resistance in the plant grown from such seed.
