ASSIGNMENT IN A VEHICULAR MICRO CLOUD BASED ON SENSED VEHICLE MANEUVERING
The disclosure includes embodiments for improving an operation of a vehicular micro cloud by increasing a continuity of a vehicular micro cloud service provided by the vehicular micro cloud. A method includes maintaining a data structure of stored driving maneuver shapes, wherein each stored driving maneuver shape includes a set of driving maneuvers. The method includes sensing a candidate vehicle and a driving maneuver shape of the candidate vehicle. The method includes determining a matching driving maneuver shape from the stored driving maneuver shapes based on a match between the driving maneuver shape of the candidate vehicle and at least a portion of the matching driving maneuver shape. The method includes estimating a next driving maneuver of the candidate vehicle. The method includes assigning a role to the candidate vehicle in the vehicular micro cloud based on the next driving maneuver of the candidate vehicle.
Vehicle driver performance based on contextual changes and driver response
Systems and methods for determining the performance of a driver of a vehicle based on changes, over time, in the context and environment in which the vehicle operates, and any resultant driver behavior are disclosed. A set of driver response data is created from based on an analysis of time-series data indicative of the driver's operation of the vehicle in conjunction with time-series data indicative of changes in the vehicle's context/environment. The driver response data indicates the types and magnitudes of the driver's responses to various changes in the vehicle's operating context/environment and the driver's time-to-respond for each of the responses. That is, the driver response data indicates how a driver compensated his or her behavior (if at all) in response to different changes in the vehicle's context and/or environment. The driver response data may be compared to one or more thresholds to determine the driver's performance.

Method and apparatus for detecting driver's abnormalities based on machine learning using vehicle can bus signal
Provided is a method for detecting a driver's abnormalities based on a CAN (Controller Area Network) bus network communicating with an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of a vehicle. The method may include: acquiring a CAN bus signal related to an operation of the vehicle from the CAN bus network; extracting a detection vector from the CAN bus signal using an auto encoder; and detecting a driver's abnormality based on the detection vector.

Risk prediction on a peer-to-peer network
A method for controlling a driving behavior performed by a first agent includes navigating, by the first agent, according to a trajectory and a velocity. The method also includes receiving, from a second agent, a risk identification message identifying a third agent as a potential risk based on the third agent performing a behavior associated with a probability that is less than a threshold. The method further includes autonomously engaging a defensive driving mode in response to receiving the risk identification message. The method still further includes adjusting one or both of the trajectory or the velocity in response to autonomously engaging the defensive driving mode.

Method and system for detecting use of vehicle safety systems
A system and method for automatically detecting if a vehicle safety system is being used by a driver is disclosed. The system and method use data gathered from one or more sensors in the vehicle. The data is analyzed to determine if the safety system is being used or disabled. The system can send reminders to a driver to use the safety system. The system and method can also automatically update a policy holder's insurance policy to reflect whether or not a safety system is being used.

Adjust operational parameters based on identified roadway irregularities
Methods and systems are provided for improving vehicle speed measurements. A vehicle may detect the impact of a roadway irregularity to its front wheels and its rear wheels, and may calculate an instantaneous vehicle speed on the basis of its wheelbase and an elapsed time between the two impacts. This instantaneous vehicle speed may then be used to calculate one or more correction factors which may be used to correct a conventionally-acquired vehicle speed measurement, an operational parameter of the vehicle underlying such measurements (such as a wheel size or a final drive ratio), or both.
