Pressure absorbing assembly for supporting a user above a support surface
A pressure absorbing assembly (10) for supporting a user (35) relative to a support surface (16) includes a pressure absorber (12) and a resting component (14). The pressure absorber (12) is configured to contact the support surface (16). Additionally, the pressure absorber (12) is further configured to resiliently support the user (35) relative to the support surface (16). Further, the resting component (14) is coupled, e.g., directly coupled, to the Pressure absorber (12). Additionally, the resting component (14) is configured to be selectively engaged by the user (35) during use of the pressure absorber (12). The resting component (14) is configured to allow the user (35) to be in a seated, semi-seated, or somewhat reclined or leaning Position while still being situated on the pressure absorber (12). The pressure absorbing assembly (10) can also include a work station (2118) that is coupled to the pressure absorber (12).
Sliding Balance Board
A sliding balance board has an eccentrically mounted center wheel as a pivotable central balancing member, a wheel with one-way sprag clutch bearings mounted near the left end of the board and a wheel with one-way sprag clutch bearings mounted near the right end of the board. A user balances himself/herself on the board, and yet slides the board to the left and right, back and forth by shifting his/her weight left and right, synchronized to the rocking motion of the eccentrically mounted center wheel.
BALANCE TRAINING DEVICE
Balance training aids are disclosed. Example embodiments disclose a user placing all or part of their body weight on a top surface of a platform that is sitting atop an unstable base member and attempts to balance or complete a balance challenge. In example embodiments, the user places at least a portion of one foot atop the platform during the balance challenge. Adjustability features can be provided so as to provide a varying degree of adjustability to the unstable base member, and thus, provide a varying degree of balance challenges or levels of difficulty.
Systems and methods for detecting running and walking strides and foot strikes
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for measuring the location, the amplitude, and/or the direction of forces applied to a walking or running surface. An example system includes a pressure-sensitive sheet that extends along a first axis. The pressure-sensitive sheet includes a top surface and a bottom surface. A vertical force applied at a location along at least one of the top surface or the bottom surface forms an electrical path between the top surface and the bottom surface having a resistance, r.sub.f, that is inversely proportional to an amplitude of the vertical force. The system further includes read out circuitry configured to provide information indicative of the amplitude of the vertical force and the location of the vertical force along the first axis of the pressure-sensitive sheet.
Isokinetic oscillation exercise device and method of producing same
An isokinetic oscillation exercise device of an elongated flexible blade having a first and second end and a grip portion coupled to a middle portion of the elongated flexible blade. End caps coupled to said first and second ends adapted to storage. Further, a method is disclosed of manufacturing an isokinetic oscillation exercise device that provides a flexible elongated flexible blade, a grip portion injection molding, a pliable ring injection moldings, and end caps injection molding; slides the pliable rings on the elongated flexible blade separated by a length of the grip portion, overmolds a first-shot of the grip portion over the pliable rings, overmolds a second-shot of the grip portion to the first-shot of the grip portion to the elongated flexible blade, seals the first-shot to the second-shot of the grip portion against the pliable rings; and attaches the end caps to the elongated flexible blade.
Standing surface to encourage movement
A shaped standing mat or base providing a trampoline-like rebounding surface that is a highly responsive and dynamic support surface for a standing person where that person is able to maintain a proper stance relative to their foot angle, and to engage in mild exercise movement and foot rotation and stretching without undue interruption of mental concentration in a work or other environment.
MODULAR BOARD EXERCISE SYSTEM WITH RESISTANCE BANDS
In one aspect, a modular board exercise system includes a skateboard. The skateboard includes a deck. The deck includes a plurality of hookable portions, and a pair of skateboard trucks coupled with a bottom side of the deck. The skateboard truck includes a pair of skateboard wheels. The system includes a plurality of resistance bands includes an elastic resistance band, a handle coupled with the distal end of the elastic resistance band, and a connecter clip coupled with the proximate end of the elastic resistance band. The connecter clip is attachable to one of the hookable portions. The system includes a stopper base. The stopper base includes a flat pad including a flat pad with a pair of grooves configured to hold each pair of skateboard wheels in a fixed position.
Variable difficulty balance board for standing desk and fitness use
A variable difficulty balance board for standing desk and fitness use is provided. The balance board facilitates the conditioning and rehabilitation of the nerves, bones, muscles, and joints of the body by limiting the range of motion and biomechanical forces around the longitudinal and lateral axes. The balance board comprises a deck, a fulcrum receiver, and a fulcrum insert. The fulcrum insert is press-fit into a fulcrum cavity of the fulcrum receiver. The fulcrum insert extends outward from the fulcrum receiver and provides an area where the balance board can pivot. The fulcrum insert may be replaced by the user such that it may occupy either a first orientation or a second orientation within the fulcrum cavity. The first orientation and the second orientation configures the fulcrum insert such that it provides a lateral or longitudinal axis of balance relative to the deck, respectively.
BALANCE BASE FOR ROWING MACHINE
The invention relates to a balance base for a rowing machine. The base is used as a stand for the rowing machine, and the rowing machine can be positioned thereon in a fixed manner. At least one spring element is provided, wherein the at least one spring element is arranged between an upper frame and a lower frame, and the at least one spring element comprises an elastic or viscoelastic material, the tilting rigidity of which is both lower than the tensile-compressive rigidity of the spring and lower than the shear stiffness of the spring. Additionally, a form-fitting or force-fitting fixture of the upper frame to the rowing machine is provided.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING BALANCING EXERCISES
Systems and methods for performing balancing exercises are disclosed herein. An in-folding section unfolds from a stationary section for the system to be in use mode. A user may enter the system through the in-folding section to access the stationary section, where balancing exercises are performed. Adjustable railings, capable of raising and lowering, are in the stationary section, as is a seat, both to be used for balancing exercises. An anti-tipping mechanism keeps the system stable in use mode, and wheels make the system mobile in storage mode, i.e. when the in-folding section folds into the stationary section.
