Rotation resistant exercise device
An exercise or fitness device designed to strengthen the entire body, with particular focus on the upper body. The device facilitates the strengthening of the core, chest, back, shoulder, and arm muscles, and in particular those muscles that move the core in the transverse plane. The device consists of two hemispherical shells, both of which have handles attached via risers. This arrangement allows the device to be gripped either by the spherical surfaces, by the handles, or a combination thereof. The two hemispheres are attached to each other by means of a shaft with a variable braking mechanism. The braking mechanism can provide levels of rotational resistance from almost zero to virtually impossible to rotate, with the resistance level being visibly indicated on the exterior of the device. The resistance level is changed by repeatedly rotating the two halves against each other in one direction or another. Key areas of the exterior of the device are treated with non-slip areas to facilitate the user gripping the device during exercise.
Vibrotactile feedback arrangement
Bilateral vestibular loss is a chronic condition of which the causes can be ototoxic, infectious, traumatic, autoimmune or congenital. An object of the invention is to improve the effectiveness of a vibrotactile feedback arrangement. The current invention provides a vibrotactile feedback arrangement for use arranged to a human body, comprising: a sensor arranged for sensing a current attitude of the human body relative to the environment; tactile actuators arranged for allowing the human body to perceive an attitude deviation; an elongated carrier for holding the tactile actuators and the sensor in tactile communication with the human body and for holding the tactile actuators and the sensor substantially fixed relative to the human body; and a processing unit configured for: receiving the current attitude from the sensor; determining the attitude deviation based on comparing a desired attitude of the human body with the current attitude; and transmitting an actuation signal to one or more of the tactile actuators based on the attitude deviation; wherein the tactile actuators are arranged to the carrier such that, when the carrier is used, the tactile actuators are arranged substantially in a reference plane; wherein the reference plane is functionally perpendicular to a central axis of a torso of the human body and the reference plane intersects the torso to define a circumference, wherein the tactile actuators are arranged to the circumference; and wherein the carrier comprises stretchable material such that the relative distance between the tactile actuators and/or between the tactile actuators and the sensor is maintained independent of the length of the circumference.
Fitness device for exercise and balance development
A fitness device is provided, the fitness device comprising: an elastomeric member having an interior cavity, the elastomeric member comprising a cylindrical portion extending between a first hemispherical endcap and a second hemispherical endcap, wherein a surface of the elastomeric member defines an aperture positioned between the interior cavity and an exterior of the elastomeric member; and a structured surface positioned on the surface of the elastomeric member over the aperture, the structured surface extending into the interior cavity of the elastomeric member.
MULTIPURPOSE EXERCISE DEVICE FOR REPLICATING EXERCISE MOTIONS FOR SPORTS AND PHYSICAL THERAPY
A multipurpose exercise device for replicating exercise motions that has a base on a support surface and a user platform. One end of a support post is axially mounted to the base and the other end is pivotally mounted to the user platform. The platform pivots with the post in a horizontal plane parallel to the support surface and pivots in a vertical plane perpendicular to the support surface. Resistance elements, dampening elements and a linkage system are selectively mounted to the support post and the base to control the velocity and angle of pivot of the platform in the horizontal and vertical plane. Ski and snowboard modules may be mounted to the user platform. The user stands on the platform or modules and performs exercise motions to propel the platform in the horizontal plane and the vertical plane to replicate the exercise motions, e.g., skiing and snowboarding.
CYCLING TRAINING DEVICE
Device (1) for cycling training that comprises a bicycle which can be integral with the device or not, a support (2), a drive system (3) and a pendulum (6) that joins the support (2) to the drive system (3). In the device, the pendulum (6) is rotationally attached to the support (2) by an upper end (2a) by the upper end (6a) of the pendulum (6), and this allows the swinging motion of the bicycle with the cyclist on it. The device (1) further comprises actuators (9), which extend from a lower end (6b) of the pendulum (6) to a base (2b) of the support (2), and are responsible for damping the swing. At the same time, the drive system (3) is also rotationally connected to the lower end (6b) by an upper part (3a) of the drive system (3) and to the support (2) by means of a guide mechanism (15) through a lower part (3b) of the drive system (3).
Balance Station
A balance station for practicing balancing exercises made up of a platform, four legs, side rails, and a front rail. Different training exercises can be implemented by using different face plates for the base platform. The balance station provides a safe environment for stability challenge individuals to practice balance exercises.
Method and apparatus for bi-directional ankle exercise movements
Apparatus for bi-directional ankle exercise movements has a main-frame with a seat and upwardly extending columns at either side to support a “U” shaped sub-frame, mounted so that it pivots about a horizontal axis passing very nearly through the ankles of a seated user and interconnecting linkages simultaneously enforcing ankle inversion, with plantarflexion and then ankle eversion, with dorsiflexion, about perpendicularly intersecting axes, while resisting such movements, so as to provide bidirectional ankle exercises according to a progressive resistance program, thus strengthening the ankle muscle groups for enhanced balance and dynamic stability.
Ski Exercise Machine with Detective Step Board
A ski exercise machine includes a main frame, a support rack mounted on the main frame, a rotation shaft module mounted on a top of the support rack, a movable step board mounted on a top of the rotation shaft module, an elastic unit mounted between the movable step board and the support rack, and at least one gyroscope mounted on the movable step board. The movable step board is movably pivoted and swung relative to the support rack. The at least one gyroscope detects and derives a swinging information of the movable step board when the movable step board is swung relative to the support rack.
CONFIGURABLE WATER ACTIVITY BOARD
Embodiments of water activity board 10 that may be configured with several components 210A-H to form a WABS 200, where the components 210A-H may be securely and removably coupled to the board 10 via one or more rail modules 100A-I. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Exercise device
A exercise ball device can include a ball and one or more panels supported by the ball. The ball can be substantially rigid and the at least one panel can be soft or resiliently deformable. The exercise ball can include a belt for guiding and positioning the one or more panels on the ball.
