Systems and methods for implementing an autonomous vehicle response to sensor failure
Among other things, we describe techniques for implementing a vehicle response to sensor failure. In general, one innovative aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods that include receiving information from a plurality of sensors coupled to a vehicle, determining that a level of confidence of the received information from at least one sensor of a first subset of sensors of the plurality of sensors is less than a first threshold, comparing a number of sensors in the first subset of sensors to a second threshold, and adjusting the driving capability of the vehicle to rely on information received from a second subset of sensors of the plurality of sensors, wherein the second subset of sensors excludes the at least one sensor of the first subset of sensors.
Vehicle control system
A vehicle travel control device executes vehicle travel control such that a vehicle follows a target trajectory. An automated driving control device generates a first target trajectory that is the target trajectory for automated driving of the vehicle. The vehicle travel control device further determines whether or not an activation condition of travel assist control is satisfied. When the activation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device generates a second target trajectory that is the target trajectory for the travel assist control. When the second target trajectory is generated during the automated driving, the vehicle travel control device determines whether or not a cancellation condition is satisfied. When the cancellation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device cancels both the first target trajectory and the second target trajectory, and decelerates the vehicle.
Vehicle control system
A target trajectory generation device generates and outputs target trajectories each including a target position and a target speed of a vehicle. A first target trajectory is intended to perform at least one of steering, acceleration, and deceleration of the vehicle. A second target trajectory is intended to decelerate and stop the vehicle. When a malfunctioning device does not exist, a vehicle traveling control device executes vehicle traveling control based on the first target trajectory. When the malfunctioning device exists, the vehicle traveling control device stops the vehicle by executing the vehicle traveling control based on the second target trajectory output before the malfunction occurs, or based on the second target trajectory output from the target trajectory generation device other than the malfunctioning device.
REMOTE PARKING CONTROL SYSTEM AND FAIL-SAFE METHOD THEREOF
A remote parking control system and a fail-safe method thereof may include at least one controller and a remote parking control apparatus that performs braking control according to motor reverse torque control and transmission stage control, when a braking controller among the at least one controller fails, upon remote parking control.

MASS DISTRIBUTION-INFORMED OPTIMIZATION FOR AUTONOMOUS DRIVING SYSTEMS
A method includes identifying sensor data associated with corresponding distal ends of one or more axles of an autonomous vehicle (AV). The method further includes determining, based on the sensor data, mass distribution data of the AV. The mass distribution data is associated with a first load proximate a first distal end of a first axle of the AV and a second load proximate a second distal end of the first axle of the AV. The method further includes causing, based on the mass distribution data, performance of a corrective action associated with the AV.
Autonomous driving control device
An object of the present invention is to enhance the reliability of an autonomous driving system. The autonomous driving system includes: a higher-level control device 1 that outputs a control target value of an actuator group based on an action plan of a vehicle; and a lower-level control device 2 that controls the actuator group of the vehicle based on a command from the higher-level control device 1. The lower-level control device 2 holds the control target value of the vehicle provided by the higher-level control device 1 over a specific period. When the higher-level control device 1 does not satisfy a desired function, the lower-level control device 2 is configured to be controlled based on the held control target value. The action plan is followed by determining and correcting a difference between an actual action value and the control target value of the vehicle.
Drive control system for hybrid vehicle
A drive control system for a hybrid vehicle configured to prevent backward coasting on an uphill grade even when an engine torque cannot be delivered to drive wheels. When the hybrid vehicle is propelled by delivering engine torque to rear wheels on an uphill grade, the drive control system determines an occurrence of a failure in which the torque cannot be delivered from the engine to the rear wheels. If the occurrence of the failure is determined, the drive control system executes a hill hold control to deliver torque to establish a required drive force from a motor to front wheels while disengaging an engagement device.

MULTI-AGENT CONTROL SYSTEM
In a preferred example embodiment of the present disclosure, a multi-agent control system includes: a malfunctioning-agent detector configured to detect a malfunctioning agent among a plurality of agents based on a malfunction signal received from each of the plurality of agents; and a multi-agent controller configured to control a neighboring agent around the malfunctioning agent to transmit a correction control signal to the malfunctioning agent such that the plurality of agents operate in a platoon.
