Devices and methods for simulating traditional rock climbing environments

An apparatus includes a frame and an access member. The frame is configured to be mounted to a structural support, and defines a first volume configured to receive at least a portion of a first insert, and a second volume configured to receive at least a portion of a second insert. The frame is configured such that when the first insert is within the first volume and the second insert is within the second volume a first engagement surface of the first insert is facing a second engagement surface of the second insert. The frame includes a first tapered surface that engages a tapered surface of the first insert to limit movement of the first insert along a lateral axis nonparallel to the longitudinal axis. The access member is configured to be coupled to the frame covering a portion of the first volume to limit movement of the first insert.

Portable inflation device

A portable device for inflating at least one envelope includes an inlet for surrounding air (1), at least one nonreturn valve, at least one compressed gas inlet (2), at least one intake chamber (3), at least one connection, such as an acceleration cone (5), with a longitudinal median symmetry axis (X, X), arranged in the extension of at least one intake chamber (3), and connected to at least one inflatable envelope, and an intermediate chamber connecting at least one compressed gas inlet (2) to at least one intake chamber (3). The intermediate chamber and the at least one intake chamber (3) are separated by a wall arranged transversely to the axis (X, X) and connected by at least one orifice located in the transverse wall (8).

CLIMBING WALL COMPRISING TRACK-BASED SUPPORT HARNESS

The present invention is directed to a climbing wall comprising a climbing surface and a climbing assistance assembly that provides a disabled child with an opportunity to utilize the climbing wall. The climbing assistance assembly comprises a track mounted above at least a portion of the climbing surface and spanning at least a portion of the length of the climbing surface. A trolley, from which a rope is suspended, is configured to travel along the track. The rope is coupled both to the trolley and to a harness. The climbing assistance assembly may further include a fall arrest device configured to lower an end of the rope coupled to the harness from an elevated position to a rest position in a controlled manner. Because the trolley is configured to travel with a user wearing the harness as the user traverses a length of the climbing surface, the fall arrest device is positioned substantially directly above the user throughout the user's climbing experience, ensuring that if the user falls, the descent will occur in a safe and controlled manner.

Device for inflating multiple envelopes

A portable safety device (100) for inflating multiple envelopes includes at least one inlet for surrounding air (1), at least one inflation system, at least one enriched air or gas zone, at least one nonreturn valve (2), at least one connector (3) connected to the at least one inflatable envelope (4). The device also includes at least one separation wall (8), which compartmentalizes at least the end of at the connector (3) opening into at least two substantially hermetically independent inflatable envelopes (4).

Belay Loop

A load bearing belay loop includes a load bearing inner structural ring that is formed by winding a single filament in many windings to form a coil, and an outer sheath made from a sheet material that is tubular in configuration and that is rolled axially to cover the ring. The outer sheath is not load bearing. The inner ring may be formed by winding a single filament in many windings to form a coil.

A climbing carabiner style hook comprising a C-shaped claw, an actuator and a gate. The actuator adapted for remote engagement to open the gate. The actuator linked to the gate to urge the gate to move from a spring retained, closed position to an open position. The actuator may be a hand lever, a finger lever or a thumb lever. The actuator is spaced from the gate and oriented generally with the grip. A linkage connects the actuator and the gate. A trigger guard may surround the actuator.
