20230264697 · 2023-08-24 ·

Extended reality content in a video can be varied based on driver attentiveness. The video can be of an external environment of a vehicle and can be presented in real-time on a display located within the vehicle. The display can be a video pass through display. The display can be an in-vehicle display, or it can be a part of a video pass-through extended reality headset. The video can present a view of an external environment of the vehicle as well as extended reality content. A level of attentiveness of a driver of the vehicle can be determined. An amount of the extended reality content presented in the video can be varied based on the level of attentiveness.

An embodiment autonomous driving control apparatus includes a memory storing data and algorithms and a processor configured to execute the algorithms stored in the memory to estimate an end of an operational design domain of an autonomous driving function in advance and to calculate a distance from an end point of the operational design domain to a start point of a transition demand, wherein the transition demand is a point at which a transition demand section starts based on a current speed of a vehicle depending on a driving strategy of the transition demand section for requiring a driver to drive the vehicle and a minimum risk maneuver section.

Vehicle electronic control device, vehicle electronic control method, and non-transitory storage medium

A vehicle electronic control device includes a detection device configured to detect a state of an occupant, a first control device, and a second control device. The second control device is configured to refer to a database defining a relationship between the state of the occupant and a first time and to autonomously drive the vehicle at speeds equal to or lower than the maximum allowable speed from a switching time that is the time at which the first control device becomes unable to control the vehicle. The database is set in such a manner that the maximum allowable speed corresponding to a second state of the occupant is lower than the maximum allowable speed corresponding to a first state of the occupant when the first time corresponding to the second state is longer than the first time corresponding to the first state.

Systems and methods for vehicle steering control

A method for providing operating mode transition for a vehicle includes receiving an input indicating a request to transition from a first operating mode of the vehicle to a second operating mode of the vehicle and determining a first planned trajectory corresponding to the first operating mode. The method also includes determining a second planned trajectory corresponding to the second operating mode. The method also includes determining a first road wheel actuator angle corresponding to the first planned trajectory and determining a second road wheel actuator angle corresponding to the second planned trajectory. The method also includes determining a difference between a current handwheel actuator angle and a handwheel actuator angle corresponding to the second road wheel actuator angle and, in response to a determination that the difference is less than a threshold, transitioning from the first operating mode to the second operating mode over a determined period.

AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE SYSTEM

An apparatus comprising at least one interface to receive sensor data from a plurality of sensors of a vehicle; and one or more processors to autonomously control driving of the vehicle according to a path plan based on the sensor data; determine that autonomous control of the vehicle should cease; send a handoff request to a remote computing system for the remote computing system to control driving of the vehicle remotely; receive driving instruction data from the remote computing system; and control driving of the vehicle based on instructions included in the driving instruction data.

Vehicle and method of controlling the same

A vehicle includes: a capturer to capture a driver of the vehicle driving in an autonomous driving mode to obtain driver position information; a driver state detector to detect a state of the driver; and a controller to determine a time required to change from the autonomous driving mode to a manual operation mode based on the obtained driver position information and the detected driver state. In particular, the controller controls the change to driving mode of the vehicle based on the determined time to change from the autonomous driving mode to the manual operation mode.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE

A control system for a vehicle capable of traveling in first and second traveling states is provided. The second traveling state requires an operation related to traveling by a passenger more than the first traveling state. The system changes, based on a traveling situation of the vehicle, an upper limit speed at which the vehicle can travel in the first traveling state. The system performs notification to the passenger of a request for a predetermined operation at a timing when a traveling speed of the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed when switching from the first traveling state to the second traveling state. A difference between the upper limit speed and the predetermined speed is increased in a case where the upper limit speed is high compared to a case where the upper limit speed is low.

Method for operating a motor vehicle having an autopilot system, and motor vehicle

Described is an approach for operating a motor vehicle, which has an autopilot system designed for completely automatically guiding the motor vehicle, in which technical activatability information is determined depending on driving situation data and/or operating state data of the motor vehicle and system boundaries information describing the range of application of the autopilot system. The motor vehicle also has a display device with a first output element displaying the activatability of the autopilot system according to the technical activatability information. Driver-related recommendation information is determined depending on the operating situation and on preferences in relation to the autopilot system and/or driver data describing the status of the driver in relation to the vehicle guidance. On this basis, a second output element of the display device displays an activation recommendation and/or a deactivation recommendation.

Vehicle control system

A vehicle control system includes an information acquirer configured to acquire vehicle surrounding information, and a controller configured to execute driving assistance control. The controller is configured to set a first line as a target traveling line when an operation status of the driving assistance control is ON. The controller is configured to set, when a driving switching request is made, the target traveling line to cause a vehicle to travel along a second line displaced from the first line by a predetermined displacement amount after a specific timing that is a timing when a predetermined time has elapsed from a requested timing.

Systems and methods for training a driver about automated driving operation using a reliability model

System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to improving the training of a driver during an automated driving system mode. In one embodiment, a method includes generating, in association with a maneuver by the driver that is a takeover of a vehicle, an automated motion plan associated with the maneuver.
