A brake bar assembly having a U-shaped frame, a sliding friction bar positioned on the U-shaped frame near a closed end of the frame, a fixed friction bar attached to an open end of the U-shaped frame, and a lockable center bar assembly positioned on the U-shaped frame between the sliding friction bar and the fixed friction bar having a spring operated locking mechanism which allows the center bar to be releasably pivoted on the frame.

Brace for preventing finger injuries
12121775 · 2024-10-22 ·

A brace for preventing injuries to annular pulley ligaments in fingers of human hands includes a proximal band dimensioned to be worn on a proximal phalanx of a finger, a distal band dimensioned to be worn on a middle phalanx, and a coupling attached to the bands. The band may be worn in position overlying an annular pulley ligament of the fingers. The coupling may bias the bands away from each other to promote retention over the annular pulley ligaments. The coupling may limit movement of bands (and thus finger) to a predetermined range of motion for avoiding tearing of the annular pulley ligament. The coupling may provide a mechanical stop limiting movement to positions in which annular pulley injuries are less likely. The coupling may be provided as a gas-pressurized struts or compressible coil springs, which may be mounted to the bands in diametrically opposed positions.

Rocker Handle
20180133889 · 2018-05-17 ·

The Rocker Handle pertains to the field of hand-held tools and devices. A sleeve-like attachment (the receiver) becomes the new user gripping point, a replacement hand-hold. This arrangement allows the tool's encased handle to move inside the gripped receiver. The receiver attaches to and partially encases a tool's standard or custom handle. The combination of the loose fitting receiver and the encased handle movement within creates a subtle whip-like action of the tool head. The effect is a different feel and action of the modified tool. The user experiences better tool performance, expends less effort while using the tool, and has reduced risk of personal injury.

Active Camming Device
20180001175 · 2018-01-04 ·

A larger active camming device including a plurality of opposed camming lobes, a cam head, a retraction system, and a connection system. The cam head includes a stem end and two parallel axles coupled to the stem end. The retraction system is a unique system comprised of a trigger, flexible trigger wires, control horns, and torsion springs. The control horns couple the trigger to the camming lobes and are configured to reduce buckling and allow greater camming range. The retraction system can also include a retraction locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is used to store the cam in a retracted and locked position until it is needed by the climber. When needed, the climber can easily unlock and extend the camming lobes with one hand.
