HYDRAULIC CONTROL DEVICE FOR DRIVE POWER DISTRIBUTION DEVICE
To provide a device to facilitate protection of a clutch while minimizing degradation of the torque transmission performance. A hydraulic clutch for drive power distribution is provided between a drive power source and auxiliary driving wheels, and a commanded torque is determined depending on the travel situation. The hydraulic pressure corresponding to the commanded torque is supplied to the hydraulic clutch. The surface temperature of the clutch is estimated (detected). The device generates a limiting value to limit the commanded torque when the difference in rotation between input and output shafts of the clutch is not less than a predetermined threshold and the commanded torque is not less than a predetermined value and performs control so as to increase the limiting value with an increase in the surface temperature of the clutch.
Method for Detecting and Mitigating Excessive Clutch Disc Wear in Manual Transmissions
A method for detecting and mitigating excessive clutch disc wear for a manual transmission includes determining if a clutch pedal position is depressed greater than or equal to a first predetermined pedal position threshold and if the vehicle speed is less than or equal to a predetermined vehicle speed threshold. The method further includes determining if the clutch pedal position is depressed greater than or equal to a second predetermined pedal position threshold when the clutch pedal position is depressed less than the first predetermined pedal position threshold. The method still further includes calculating a clutch disc heat flux value and a clutch disc surface temperature. The method further includes displaying an alert/warning and a remedial action message to a vehicle operator when the clutch disc surface temperature is greater than or equal to a predetermined surface temperature threshold.
Overheat preventing method of clutch for vehicle
An overheat preventing method of a clutch for a vehicle may include a first comparing, by a controller, of comparing a temperature of a clutch with a first set temperature, as a result of performing the first comparing, when the temperature of the clutch is higher than the first set temperature, accelerator pedal map increasing, by the controller, of controlling a gain of an accelerator pedal map to be increased, after the accelerator pedal map increasing, a second comparing, by the controller, of comparing the temperature of the clutch with a second set temperature set to be lower than the first set temperature, and as a result of performing the second comparing, when the temperature of the clutch is lower than the second set temperature, an accelerator pedal map recovering, by the controller, of controlling the gain of the accelerator pedal map to be recovered to a reference value.
VEHICLE CONTROLLING DEVICE
A vehicle controlling device has a frictional engagement element provided between a drive motor and a driving wheel; a shifting unit capable of selecting a travel range or a non-travel range; first obtaining unit configured to, during selection of the travel range, obtain a first parameter including at least a first motor torque value that is a torque value of the drive motor; second obtaining unit configured to, during selection of the non-travel range, obtain a second parameter including at least a second motor torque value that is a torque value of the drive motor; and operating unit configured to, on the basis of the first and second parameters, calculate a zero point hydraulic pressure command value at which the frictional engagement element starts to generate a torque capacity. It is therefore possible to detect a zero point of a clutch between the drive motor and the driving wheel.
Method for controlling a drive train having a double-clutch transmission
The invention relates to a method for controlling a drivetrain having an internal combustion engine, a dual-clutch transmission, having a first and second sub-transmission having at least one shiftable gear ratio, a first friction clutch disposed between the internal combustion engine and the first sub-transmission and a second friction clutch disposed between the internal combustion engine and the second sub-transmission to provide a drivetrain torque at a transmission output of the dual-clutch transmission by transferring an engine torque adjusted thereto via the friction clutches. So as to be able to continue operating a friction clutch which may have a previously damaged friction lining, at a first clutch torque transferred via the first friction lining, depending on a friction coefficient and a current temperature of a second friction lining of the second friction clutch, the second friction clutch is engaged at a gear ratio selected in the second sub-transmission and the friction lining is heated to a specified temperature.
Method for protecting clutch of vehicle
Disclosed is a method for protecting a vehicle clutch, including a check step for checking the mileage of a vehicle and the number of times a clutch wear compensation device is operated; after the check step, a calculation step for calculating a clutch thermal severity level, which indicates the degree of thermal severity of the clutch, based on the mileage and the number of times the wear compensation device is operated; and a control step for controlling at least one of the shifting pattern of the vehicle and engine RPM depending on the clutch thermal severity level, after the calculation step.
Adaptive controls of engine disconnect clutch
A hybrid vehicle includes an engine, an electric machine, and a clutch configured to selectively couple the engine to the electric machine. A controller is programmed to command a torque to the electric machine based on a clutch model that includes a learned time constant previously selected using a family of candidate time constants based on a comparison of the family to measured pressure data of a previous engagement of the clutch.
Vehicle traction control based driveline thermal protection
A method and system for controlling temperatures in a driveline assembly of a vehicle are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes determining an operating temperature associated with the driveline assembly of the vehicle, the driveline assembly comprising forward and rear axles and a power transfer device configured to transmit power from a power source of the vehicle to the forward and rear axles. The method further includes computing a gain factor responsive to the operating temperature, adjusting a control parameter value of a traction control system of the vehicle responsive to the gain factor, and generating a control signal from the traction control system responsive to the control parameter value, the control signal configured to adjust at least one of an output torque of the power source and a braking force of a brake of the vehicle.
