VEHICLE DRIVING BEHAVIOR MONITORING AND WARNING SYSTEM
A vehicle driving behavior monitoring and warning system that includes a host vehicle having a communication device that receives operating information of remote vehicles that are located within a predetermined zone of interest, a warning device and an electronic controller. The electronic controller is connected to the communication device and the warning device. The electronic controller evaluates operating information received by the communication device and determine whether or not one of the remote vehicles is operating with questionable driving behavior and determines whether or not the remote vehicle poses a potential threat to the host vehicle. In response to determining that the remote vehicle is operating with questionable driving behavior and poses a potential threat to the host vehicle, the electronic controller operates the warning device warning the operator of the host vehicle of the remote vehicle.
VEHICULAR COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM
A vehicular collision avoidance system includes a forward-viewing camera viewing through the windshield at least forward of the equipped vehicle, a rearward-sensing radar sensor sensing at least rearward of the equipped vehicle, and an electronic control unit. The vehicular collision avoidance system detects vehicles present forward and/or rearward of the equipped vehicle. Responsive to data processing of radar data captured by the rearward-sensing radar sensor, the vehicular collision avoidance system detects another vehicle approaching the equipped vehicle from the rear, determines distance between the equipped vehicle and the other vehicle, and determines speed difference between the equipped vehicle and the other vehicle. Based at least in part on the determined distance between the equipped vehicle and the other vehicle and the determined speed difference between the equipped vehicle and the other vehicle, the vehicular collision avoidance system controls the equipped vehicle to mitigate impact by the other vehicle.
SAFETY SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A safety system for a vehicle may include one or more processors configured to determine, based on a friction prediction model, one or more predictive friction coefficients between the ground and one or more tires of the ground vehicle using first ground condition data and second ground condition data. The first ground condition data represent conditions of the ground at or near the position of the ground vehicle, and the second ground condition data represent conditions of the ground in front of the ground vehicle with respect to a driving direction of the ground vehicle. The one or more processors are further configured to determine driving conditions of the ground vehicle using the determined one or more predictive friction coefficients.
Vehicle Control Method and Vehicle Control Device
The vehicle control device sets a region including a stationary object on a road, calculates a passing position at which a host vehicle and an oncoming vehicle pass each other in accordance with a velocity of the host vehicle and a position and a velocity of the oncoming vehicle, calculates a first score that is a larger value as the velocity of the oncoming vehicle is greater, calculates a second score that is a larger value as an acceleration rate of the oncoming vehicle is greater, integrates the first score with the second score so as to calculate an integration score, and causes the host vehicle to decelerate when the integration score is greater than or equal to a predetermined value or causing the host vehicle to keep the velocity or accelerate when the integration score is smaller than the predetermined value.
DRIVING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
Provided is a driving assistance device that makes it possible to smoothly accelerate from a stop or from a speed close to a stop. A target acceleration/deceleration output unit of the driving assistance device has: a first map that stores first target accelerations which are associated with inter-vehicle distance and with relative speed; a second map that stores second target accelerations which are associated with inter-vehicle distance and with relative speed and which are greater than the first target accelerations with respect to inter-vehicle distance and relative speed; and a selection unit that selects, according to a vehicle speed, whether to use the output of the first map and/or whether to use the output of the second map.
OVERHEAD-STRUCTURE RECOGNITION DEVICE
In an overhead-structure recognition device to be mounted to a vehicle, a determination unit is configured to, in response to a vertical distance between an object of interest and a high-reflectivity object being greater than or equal to a predefined value of vertical distance, determine that the object of interest is an overhead structure which is a structure located above the vehicle that does not obstruct travel of the vehicle. The object of interest corresponds to a subset of interest among a plurality of subsets acquired by dividing range point cloud data. The high-reflectivity object is an object other than the object of interest, among objects corresponding to the respective subgroups, whose reflectance is greater than or equal to a predefined value of reflectance.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE COLLISION AVOIDANCE
A method includes identifying an object that is invading a lane that an autonomous vehicle is occupying, and generating a constraint about a point of crossing, where the constraint has a direction and a length, and the point of crossing represents a location of where the object and the autonomous vehicle will collide if the object maintains its current trajectory and the autonomous vehicle maintains its current trajectory. The method includes applying the constraint to a motion plan associated with the autonomous vehicle, and issuing one or more commands to adjust movement of the autonomous vehicle in response to encountering the constraint.
Driving assistance apparatus
In a driving assistance apparatus, an area setter is configured to set a warning area on at least one of a left rear side and a right rear side of a subject vehicle. A notifier is configured to provide a notification in response to an object detector detecting an object in the warning area. A determiner is configured to determine initiation and completion of a turn at an intersection during turning of the subject vehicle at the intersection. An area changer is configured to, in response to the determiner determining the initiation of the turn, reduce the warning area in a direction approaching the subject vehicle, and in response to the determiner determining the completion of the turn, expand the reduced warning area according to a traveling state of the subject vehicle after the completion of the turn.
Vehicle control apparatus
A vehicle control apparatus is provided with: a recognizer configured to recognize a surrounding situation of a host vehicle; a controller programmed to perform a deceleration control when a deceleration target is recognized by the recognizer; and a detector configured to detect a slip of the host vehicle. The controller sets a first controlled variable, which is a controlled variable associated with the deceleration control when the slip of the host vehicle is detected without execution of the deceleration control, so as to suppress an extent of deceleration of the host vehicle, in comparison with a second controlled variable, which is the controlled variable when the slip of the host vehicle is not detected without execution of the deceleration control.
TASK-INFORMED BEHAVIOR PLANNING
A method for task-informed planning by a behavior planning system of a vehicle includes observing a previous trajectory of an agent within a distance from the vehicle. The method also includes predicting, by the behavior planning system, a set of potential trajectories for the agent and/or the vehicle based on observing the previous trajectory. The method further includes selecting, by the behavior planning system, a potential action from a set of potential actions associated with a task to be performed by the vehicle, each potential action being associated with a utility value based on the respective potential action and the set of potential trajectories, the selected potential action being associated with a highest utility value of respective utility values associated with the set of potential actions. The method still further includes controlling the vehicle to perform an action associated with the potential action selected by the behavior planning system.
