AUTONOMOUS DRIVING ALGORITHM EVALUATION AND IMPLEMENTATION
Methods and systems for autonomous driving algorithm evaluation are described herein. A computing device may receive, via telematics sensors associated with a vehicle, telematics data corresponding to one or more trips taken by the vehicle during a period of time. Portions of the telematics data corresponding to use of an autonomous driving algorithm may be determined. One or more performance metrics of the autonomous driving algorithm may be determined based on the portions of the telematics data corresponding to use of the autonomous driving algorithm. The one or more performance metrics may be compared to one or more other performance metrics, such as those corresponding to other autonomous driving algorithms. An autonomous vehicle score may be assigned to the autonomous driving algorithm. Based on the autonomous vehicle score, an indication of a second autonomous driving algorithm may be sent to the vehicle.

A control system and related method for controlling the machine in a mine. The control system may comprise a LADAR, an interface device, a processor and an AECM. The LADAR may be configured to capture scan data of physical mine walls. The interface device may be configured to display a mine map illustrating a section of the mine. The processor may be configured to add a virtual wall to the mine map in response to a first user input. The processor may be configured to add a temporary wall to the mine map in response to a second user input. The temporary wall may be based on scan data of a physical mine wall captured by the LADAR. The AECM is configured to control an operation of the machine, based on the mine map, to avoid collision of the machine with the virtual wall or the temporary wall.
SMART TRAILER CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
Methods and systems are provided for classification of the type and weight of a trailer being towed by a vehicle. The classification is based on a comparison between a real-time road gradient as determined by the vehicle system and an expected road gradient as determined from an off-board or an onboard map. Vehicle operations may be adjusted based on the classification of the attached trailer.
Electric vehicle power management system
An apparatus comprising an interface, a memory and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive sensor data samples during operation of a vehicle. The memory may be configured to store the sensor data samples over a number of points in time. The processor may be configured to analyze the sensor data samples stored in the memory to detect a pattern. The processor may be configured to manage an application of brakes of the vehicle in response to the pattern.
Vehicle safety alert system
A vehicle safety alert system. The system includes a controller disposed within a vehicle and a plurality of transmitters disposed along a roadway. The controller receives speed limit data from the transmitters and then both notifies a driver of the current speed limit and alerts the driver if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit. The controller also includes GPS components and is configured to upload vehicle location data to a database and server via an existing network. The transmitters are configured to receive vehicle speed and identification information and relay the information to a server. The information regarding vehicle speed, location, and identification is then sent from the database to the appropriate monitoring agency via the server.
Guidance control system for vehicle driving operation
A calculation method and apparatus for calculating a starting point for acceleration/deceleration operation of a vehicle with high accuracy using more input values while at the same time keeping calculation cost and time to a minimum is disclosed herein. An ECU making up a system calculates a start point for acceleration/deceleration operation of a vehicle on the basis of traveling condition information that changes as the vehicle travels and vehicle information that changes only slightly as a result of the travel of the vehicle. As a result, if the driver maintains a throttle operator at a given opening angle or more at a point before the start point, an actuator applies a force in the direction of closing a throttle valve to the throttle operator, thereby notifying the driver that the vehicle is close to the start point.

TRAVEL PLANNING DEVICE AND TRAVEL PLANNING METHOD
A travel planning device includes: a subject vehicle information acquisition unit that acquires subject vehicle information including a scheduled travel route and a scheduled departure time of a subject vehicle; an other vehicle information acquisition unit that acquires other vehicle information including information by which it is possible to predict scheduled travel routes of a plurality of other vehicles and a scheduled passage time through each point on the scheduled travel routes; and a travel plan calculator that calculates a travel plan of the subject vehicle based on the subject vehicle information and the other vehicle information. The travel plan calculator divides the scheduled travel route of the subject vehicle into manual driving sections and following travel sections, and selects the leading vehicle of each following travel section from among the plurality of other vehicles for each following travel section.
