A method of controlling an engine and a transmission of a vehicle includes: determining, by a controller, whether the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC (Start & Stop coasting) or whether the vehicle is accelerating during NCC (Neutral Coasting control), determining an RPM and gear stage of the transmission if it is determined that the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC or the vehicle is accelerating during NCC, determining a mild hybrid starter and generator (MHSG) target RPM and an MHSG target RPM gradient of the vehicle, performing, by the controller, MHSG RPM control of the vehicle to follow the MHSG target RPM and the MHSG target RPM gradient, determining whether the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM, and performing proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control to follow the MHSG target RPM if the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM.

A fuel-empty-state recovery determination method including: when driving of the hybrid vehicle is started, performing rotation speed control of an electric power generator for a specified time, and then stopping the rotation speed control; in a case where it is detected that a state in which the rotation speed of an engine after stopping the rotation speed control is higher than a threshold continues for more than a first determination time, determining that recovery has been made from a fuel-empty state; in a case where the measured time does not exceed the first determination time, starting measurement of the time during which the rotation speed of the engine is lower than the threshold; and in a case where the measured time exceeds a second determination time, maintaining determination that the vehicle is in a fuel-empty state.

Acceleration compensation during engine torque changes

Disclosed is a vehicle acceleration compensation system, including an accelerator pedal, throttle, and a transmission configured to shift between two or more fixed gears, wherein each gear relates the motor power to a vehicle torque. The system also includes a control unit configured to receive data from one or more sensors. The control unit includes a real-time throttle map relating the accelerator pedal position to the throttle position, such that a given accelerator pedal position directs a corresponding target throttle position, and a real-time shift map relating a desired transmission gear to a current transmission gear, current vehicle speed, and current throttle position, such that a given vehicle speed, given throttle position, and given transmission gear directs a corresponding target transmission gear. In response to sensor data, the control unit updates the throttle map and shift map such that the vehicle torque is altered to produce a desired acceleration value.

AUTOMATED VEHICLE SAFETY RESPONSE METHODS AND CORRESPONDING VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEMS WITH SERIALIZED COMPUTING ARCHITECTURES
20230311909 · 2023-10-05 ·

Described herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for implementing automated vehicle safety response measures to ensure continued safe automated vehicle operation for a limited period of time after a vehicle component or vehicle system that supports an automated vehicle driving function fails. When a critical vehicle component/system such as a vehicle computing platform fails, the vehicle is likely no longer capable of performing calculations required to safely operate and navigate the vehicle in an autonomous manner, or at a minimum, is no longer able to ensure the accuracy of such calculations. In such a scenario, the automated vehicle safety response measures disclosed herein can ensure - despite failure of the vehicle component/system -continued safe automated operation of the vehicle for a limited period of time in order to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.

The CACC system includes a communication unit receiving vehicle information and road information of a region in which the subject vehicle travels; an information collection unit collecting driving information of a forward vehicle, vehicle information of the subject vehicle, and the road information; and a control unit controlling the inter-vehicle distance and the responsible speed level of the CACC system based on the driving pattern of the target vehicle according to generated control information.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device is configured to: execute a fuel cut control for stopping fuel supply to the internal combustion engine in response to a deceleration request to the vehicle; engage the lock-up clutch and open a throttle of the vehicle during the execution of the fuel cut control; close the throttle and execute the motor assist in a case where there is an acceleration request to the vehicle while the lock-up clutch is engaged, the throttle is opened, and the fuel cut control is executed; end the fuel cut control and resume fuel supply to the internal combustion engine when an intake pressure of the internal combustion engine reaches a predetermined startable negative pressure after the throttle is closed; and disengage the lock-up clutch when the fuel supply to the internal combustion engine is resumed.
