20190202433 · 2019-07-04 ·

An engine control method of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided. The method includes detecting a state of charge (SOC) of a main battery of the hybrid electric vehicle and detecting whether a brake requires operation when the main battery is in a fully-charged state or a charging-limiting state. An engine fuel cut of the hybrid electric vehicle is executed when a request for the engine brake is generated and an engine is operated to maximize an engine load of the hybrid electric vehicle.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

In a control system for an internal combustion engine which stops the rotation of an internal combustion engine by applying a counter torque thereto, the generation of noise or vibration accompanying the stop of rotation of the internal combustion engine is suppressed as much as possible. In the control system provided with a controller being adapted to stop the rotation of the internal combustion engine by carrying out forced stop processing in which the counter torque is inputted, in cases where the forced stop processing is carried out after the completion of the execution of specific motoring processing, the controller makes the counter torque at a certain timing before the counter torque becomes a predetermined torque after the start of the execution of the forced stop processing smaller than in the case where the forced stop processing is carried out without carrying out the specific motoring processing.

ENGINE CONTROLS DURING TRANSMISSION SHIFT

A vehicle includes an engine and a transmission coupled to the engine. A vehicle controller is programmed to, in response to a shift of the transmission with the vehicle being in a sport mode or other precondition being present, command the engine to skip one or more fuel injector events of the engine during an inertia phase of the shift.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING VEHICLE IN COLD START

A method for controlling a hybrid vehicle for a cold start. The method includes determining whether a combustion engine of the vehicle is idling. The method further includes, when the engine is idling, increasing a load of a hybrid starter/generator (HSG) until a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst reaches a desirable temperature.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING MILD HYBRID VEHICLE

A method for controlling a mild hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The method includes: controlling a multi-point injection (MPI) fuel system for suppling fuel to an engine for a low revolutions-per-minute (RPM) operation; subsequently, causing a gasoline direct injection (GDI) fuel system for a high RPM operation; switching to the multi-point injection fuel system when it is determined that the gasoline direct injection fuel system fails. The method further comprises calculating a torque deficiency due to the switching from the GDI fuel system to the MPI fuel system and controlling a starter-generator to generate an assist torque to compensate the torque deficiency.

Method for braking a hybrid electric vehicle

A method for braking a hybrid electric vehicle, a hybrid electric vehicle and a computer program element. The method includes actuating braking with a brake energy, starting to regenerate the brake energy and charging a battery system with the regenerated brake energy, receiving a state of charge of the battery system, redirecting the regenerated brake energy into an integrated starter generator in case of a full or limited charging of the battery system, and activating the integrated starter generator to rotate an internal combustion engine.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLING ENGINE IDLE-STOP

Methods and systems are provided for controlling an engine idle-stop based on upcoming traffic and road conditions. In one example, a method may include receiving data including traffic information and road characteristics immediately ahead of a vehicle from one or more remote sources, and adjusting one or more vehicle thresholds based on the received data. A duration of a prospective engine idle-stop may be estimated based on the received data and an engine idle-stop may be initiated based on the duration of the prospective engine idle-stop and the adjusted one or more vehicle threshold.

Method for controlling an engine during a restart

Various systems and methods are described for controlling an engine in a vehicle, the engine being coupled to a transmission. One example method comprises, under selected braking conditions, shutting-off the engine and spinning-down the engine to rest while the vehicle is traveling, and in response to a foot-off-brake event, restarting the engine by at least partially engaging the transmission and adjusting engine torque control actuators.

VEHICLE DRIVING SYSTEM
20240270233 · 2024-08-15 ·

A driving system for a vehicle includes an engine including a fuel injection valve, an electric motor, a hydraulic clutch which connects/disconnects the engine to/from the motor, a hydraulic pressure sensor which detects hydraulic pressure of the clutch, and a controller which selectively executes one of a motor travel mode where the motor is activated and the engine is stopped, and an engine travel mode where at least the engine is activated. In a startup of the engine accompanying a change from the motor travel mode to the engine travel mode, the controller causes the clutch to transition from a disconnected state to a connected state, determines the connected state of the clutch based on hydraulic pressure detected by the hydraulic pressure sensor, and when the clutch is confirmed to be in a predetermined connection initial state, the controller causes the fuel injection valve to inject fuel.

The present invention relates to a method for determining engine operation parameter values during and/or after a gear shift operation prior to performing said gear shift operation. The method comprises the steps of, prior to the gear shift operation: determining initial conditions comprising torque demand and engine speed and certain other engine operation parameter values; providing said initial conditions to an engine operation simulation model; providing a torque development course as well as an engine speed development course during the intended gear shift operation to said engine operation simulation model; and determining desired engine operation parameter values by means of said engine operation simulation model based upon the information thus provided to said engine operation simulation model.
