ENERGY CONSERVATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20210179065 · 2021-06-17 ·

Methods and systems are described for conserving energy used by an energy consuming device. In certain embodiments, an energy conservation system can be configured to deliver energy to the energy consuming device for a period, followed by a period where energy delivery is dampened and/or cut. By cycling the delivery of energy in this fashion, the energy conservation can achieve a pulsed efficiency.

Fuel fill control systems and methods for anticipating vehicle refueling events

This disclosure is directed to vehicle fuel fill control systems for anticipating vehicle refueling events in order to control the timing of fuel tank depressurization sequences. In a first embodiment, a global positioning system (GPS) is utilized to anticipate the vehicle refueling event prior to initializing the depressurization sequence. In another embodiment, a camera system is utilized to anticipate the refueling event prior to initializing the depressurization sequence. In yet another embodiment, both the GPS and the camera system may be utilized to anticipate the refueling event. By anticipating refueling events, customer wait time for gaining refueling access may be reduced.

Powertrain with Continuously Variable Transmission and Aftertreatment System

A powertrain for a machine includes an internal combustion engine, an aftertreatment system including a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst for treating exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine, and a continuously variable transmission operatively coupled to the internal combustion engine. An electronic controller can measure a catalyst temperature of the SCR catalyst and can inversely adjust an engine speed and a CVT output to selectively regulate a catalyst temperature of the SCR catalyst. In an embodiment, the CVT may be a hydro-mechanical transmission including a hydrostatic transmission and a mechanical transmission.

Methods and systems for operating a driveline of a hybrid vehicle powertrain

Methods and systems are provided for operating a driveline of a hybrid vehicle powertrain, where the driveline includes an electric machine downstream of a dual clutch transmission, which is downstream of an engine. In one example, a method comprises communicating from a transmission, a torque to accelerate transmission components from a first speed to a second speed with first and second clutches of a dual transmission open, the communicating performed while an electric machine coupled to the dual clutch transmission at a location downstream of the dual clutch transmission is providing torque to propel a vehicle. In this way, wheel speed may remain substantially constant while the transmission is shifted and the engine is stopped.

Brake/drive force control system

A brake/drive force control system includes: a requested acceleration calculating section; a powertrain control section calculating a minimum brake/drive force at the time of no fuel cut and a fuel-cut brake/drive force, generating larger one of a requested brake/drive force and the minimum brake/drive force when the requested brake/drive force is larger than the fuel-cut brake/drive force, and generating the fuel-cut brake/drive force when the requested brake/drive force is equal to or smaller than the fuel-cut brake/drive force; a brake control section generating a requested brake force; and a brake/drive force control section calculating the requested brake/drive force from requested acceleration, requesting the powertrain control section for the requested brake/drive force, acquiring the brake/drive force generated by a powertrain, and when the requested brake/drive force is smaller than the acquired brake/drive force, requesting the brake control section for a difference between the requested brake/drive force and the acquired brake/drive force.

VEHICLE CONTROLLER, VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE LEARNING DEVICE, VEHICLE LEARNING METHOD, AND MEMORY MEDIUM

An update process updates relationship defining data by inputting, to a predetermined update map, a state of a vehicle obtained by a state obtaining process, a value of an action variable used to operate an electronic device, and a reward corresponding to an operation of an electronic device. A range in which an operation process uses, as the action variable, a value different from a value that maximizes an expected return related to the reward is defined as a return non-maximizing range. In a case in which a degree of deterioration of the vehicle is greater than or equal to a predetermined degree, a changing process changes the return non-maximizing range to a side on which the return non-maximizing range is expanded as compared to a case in which the degree of deterioration is less than the predetermined degree.
