A method for operating a motor vehicle having a hybrid drive, and to a motor vehicle configured for carrying out the method. In a hybrid operating mode of the motor vehicle, a proportion of a purely electric driving operation is maximized by controlling the automatic transmission so a resulting rotational speed is not lower than a preset minimum value.

A torque upper limit value changing section increases an upper limit value of a torque instruction value in a powering range in case a rotational speed reduction degree is greater than a reference value and decreases the upper limit value of the torque instruction value in the powering range in case the rotational speed reduction degree is smaller than the reference value.

Control Device for Hybrid Vehicle

A control device for hybrid vehicle includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to: calculate required electric power required for a motor for electric power generation as electric power supplied to a motor for drive based on required drive power of the hybrid vehicle; calculate an electric power suppliable time of the capacitor; and determine a rotation speed increase standby time of the internal. combustion engine such that rotation speed increase standby time becomes shorter than a spare time. The spare time is a time obtained by subtracting an electric power generation delay time from the electric power suppliable time. The electric power generation delay time is a time from a time of starting the rotation speed increase until a time of starting electric power generation of the motor for electric power generation.

Hybrid powertrain and method for controlling the same

A hybrid powertrain and a method for controlling the powertrain are provided to convert an EV mode, a power slit mode, and a parallel mode based on a driving state. The powertrain includes an input shaft connected to an engine and first and second motors/generators installed within a transmission housing. A planetary gear set is installed on an input shaft and includes a combination of a sun gear, a planetary carrier, and a ring gear. A first output gear is connected to the second motor/generator and a second output gear is connected to the planetary carrier of the planetary gear set. A rotation restraint mechanism restricts a rotation of the input shaft. An overdrive brake is connected to the sun gear of the planetary gear set or the first motor/generator. An output shaft is supplied with power through the first and second output gears.

Hybrid drive of a motor vehicle

A hybrid drive of a motor vehicle has an internal combustion engine, an electric machine, an automated manual transmission with an input shaft and an output shaft, and a phase shifter gearbox in a planetary design with two input elements and one output element. A first input element of the gearbox is connected to a hollow shaft arranged in a coaxial manner around the output shaft, which is connectable to an idler gear of an axially adjacent spur gear stage of the manual transmission, and, for bypassing the gearbox, is connectable to the second input element or the output element of the gearbox. The second input element of the gearbox is permanently in drive connection with a rotor of the electric machine, and the output element of the gearbox is connected in a torque-proof manner to the output shaft.

Methods and system for starting an engine of a hybrid vehicle

Systems and methods for cranking an engine of a hybrid vehicle that includes an electric machine to crank the engine and propel the vehicle are disclosed. In one example, engine cranking speed and engine cranking source are selected in response to vehicle operating conditions that may affect whether or not an electrical power source has sufficient energy to crank the engine.

Electric bike optical shift detection and control

A number of variations may include a cable movement detector for determining a movement of a cable. A light source may be directed at the cable. A light detector may receive a reflection of the light source from the cable.

In response to a DN operation that changes a shift position SP from a D position to an N position during forward drive in an HV drive mode, then an accelerator position Acc is not less than a reference accelerator position Aref (step S130), a mechanical neutral control is performed to provide a neutral state by releasing transmission of power between an intermediate shaft 32 and a driveshaft 36 by a multi-speed transmission 60 (step S230). An engine and two motors are then controlled to be rotated at rotation speeds close to rotation speeds Nedn, Nm1dn and Nm2dn at the time of DN operation (steps S250, S270 and S280).

SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING FAILURE OF ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY VEHICLE

A system for controlling a failure of an environment-friendly vehicle is provided to which a highway driving pilot (HDP) system is applied. The system includes a vehicle control unit (VCU) controller that operates a driving motor, an integrated electric booster (IEB) controller that operates IEB for controlling a brake of the environment-friendly vehicle and generate a request to the VCU controller for regenerative braking, and an HDP controller that calculates a required deceleration of the environment-friendly vehicle based on the situation around the environment-friendly vehicle, determined through cognitive control sensors applied to the environment-friendly vehicle. The HDP controller transmits the required deceleration to the IEB controller. At least one of regenerative braking of the driving motor or braking through the brake is performed based on a type of a fault message output by the IEB controller or a failure in communication between the HDP controller and the IEB controller.

20220227399 · 2022-07-21 ·

A method for operating a driver assistance system of an electrically driven motor vehicle includes providing a first and a second driving mode and setting the first driving mode or the second driving mode via an actuating device by a single user input. A first turning maneuver of the motor vehicle is set as the first driving mode and a second turning maneuver of the motor vehicle is set as the second driving mode. During the first turning maneuver, a direction of movement for each of the four wheels of the motor vehicle is respectively set via four control signals such that right side wheels of the motor vehicle and left side wheels of the motor vehicle rotate against each other. Via the driver assistance system, the motor vehicle is operated at least partially autonomously at least during the first driving mode and/or the second driving mode.
