On demand machine rimpull adjustment to prevent tire slip
A system for proactively controlling rimpull limit of a machine includes a hydraulic system having a lift cylinder to move an implement; a lift cylinder pressure sensor that senses a hydraulic pressure of the lift cylinder and responsively produces a lift cylinder pressure signal; and a controller in operable communication with the power train and the lift cylinder pressure sensor. The controller is configured to receive the lift cylinder pressure signal; determine the rimpull limit based at least in part upon the lift cylinder pressure signal; and adjust the torque of the power train to the rimpull limit.
Simplified control for optimized hybrid vehicle powertrain operation
Methods and systems for calibrating a hybrid vehicle system for simplified control of the powertrain to optimize fuel efficiency of the hybrid vehicle and for operating a hybrid vehicle powertrain accordingly. The optimization mechanism reduces the optimized control problem to a single degree-of-freedom. Accordingly, during real-time operation of the hybrid vehicle, the system is able to quickly identify and apply optimized operating settings for a particular driver demand and, in some implementations, to provide a particular rate of change of the state-of-charge of the battery of the hybrid vehicle.
PLUG-IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES WITH DERATED TRACTION CONTROL UPON SYSTEM FAULTS
A method for controlling the distribution of power to a traction motor in a plug-in electric vehicle having a plurality of on-board sources of electric power. Power is distributed at a normal power control relationship in response to an operator control input during operation in a normal mode. Power is depleted at a first rate during operation of the vehicle in the normal mode. Power is distributed at a derate power control relationship in response to the operator control input during operation in a derate mode. Power is depleted at a second rate that is less than the first rate during operation in the derate mode to conserve the power of the one or more on-board sources. Operation in the derate mode can be initiated in response to information from sensors identifying a vehicle condition indicating a battery charge limitation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE ATTITUDE
Methods and system are described for adjusting an attitude of an airborne vehicle according to terrain where the vehicle is expected to land. In one example, torque output of an electric machine is adjusted to change a pitch of a vehicle to conform to a pitch of terrain where the vehicle is expected to land so that vehicle stability may be improved.
DRIVING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A vehicle driving apparatus includes: an engine; a fluid transmission device; first and second rotary electric machines; an output shaft for receiving a power transmitted through a first power transmission path and outputting the power to one of a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels; and a control device for controlling an engine operation point by adjusting an electrical path amount between the first and second rotary electric machines. The second rotary electric machine outputs the power to the other of the pair of front wheels and the pair of rear wheels, through a second power transmission path. The control device obtains a target electrical path amount enabling the engine operation point to become a target operation point, and causes a speed change device provided in the second power transmission path to establish a gear ratio enabling the target electrical path amount to be attainable.
DRIVING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A driving apparatus includes: a first power source; a fluid transmission device; a first output shaft for receiving a power transmitted from the fluid transmission device through a first power transmission path and outputting the power to drive wheels of a vehicle; a rotary electric machine connected to the first output shaft and/or the drive wheels, through a second power transmission path; and a control device. When the vehicle is stopped or running at an extremely low speed, with a rotary-electric-machine driving mode being established, the control device is configured, upon determination that a drive request amount is larger than a threshold amount value, to place a direct clutch of the fluid transmission device into an engaged state and to place the first power transmission path into a power transmittable state so as to cause the power of the first power source to be outputted to the first output shaft.
Control method for generating virtual sensation of gear shifting of electric vehicle
A control method of an electric vehicle is provided. The method includes generation of a virtual sensation of gear shifting of an electric vehicle capable of freely, directly changing and adjusting variables related to generation of the virtual sensation of gear shifting to provide drivers with preferred virtual sensation of gear shifting. The virtual sensation of gear shifting is generated according to driver's driving input values and vehicle conditions based on variable values related to the virtual sensation of gear shifting generation preset by a driver to simulate multi-speed gear shifting that the driver may sense when shifting in a vehicle having a multi-speed transmission, while driving an electric vehicle without the multi-speed transmission.
VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS
A vehicle control apparatus includes an electric motor, an engine, and a control system. The control system executes a first speed mode or a second speed mode as a speed mode of the transmission on the basis of a driving operation performed by a driver, sets a speed ratio on a lower side in the second speed mode than in the first speed mode in a case where an accelerator operation performed by the driver is cancelled, executes a first assist mode or a second assist mode as an assist mode in which the electric motor is brought into a power-running state, and switches the assist mode to the second assist mode in a case where the amount of the accelerator operation is increased greater than a starting threshold while the second speed mode is being executed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING VEHICLE YAW IN AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Systems and methods are provided herein for operating an electric vehicle in a vehicle yaw mode. The electric vehicle includes a normal driving mode where the electric vehicle is steered by turning the steerable wheels (e.g., left or right) and vehicle yaw mode where the vehicle controls the torque applied to each wheel. In response to receiving input to initiate vehicle yaw mode and yaw direction, the system determines the inner wheels and the outer wheels and provides forward torque to the outer wheels of the vehicle and backward torque to the inner wheels of the vehicle to rotate the vehicle.
VEHICLE REVERSE DRIVE MODE
A vehicle includes an electric machine that generates torque to move wheels of the vehicle, and a controller. The controller operates the electric machine to limit a maximum speed at which the vehicle is driven in reverse such that the maximum speed depends on a number of detected objects behind the vehicle.
