Vehicle regenerative braking control device
10076959 · 2018-09-18 · ·

A vehicle regenerative braking control device is provided for a vehicle, which comprises wheels and a motor that brakes and drives the wheels. In this way, the vehicle travels by the motor driving the wheels, and brakes by applying a braking force to the wheels with a regenerative braking force of the motor. The vehicle regenerative braking control device comprises a vehicle controller configured to control the motor such that the regenerative braking force is to be decreased at a steady rate during a predetermined time before a state-of-charge of a battery used as a power source of the motor decreases to a level at which the regenerative braking force can no longer be generated as predetermined.

The present invention relates to a method and a system for adaptation of a vehicle's performance. This system comprises a receiving device arranged to receive a request that a driver of the vehicle wishes to use a temporary performance mode. The system also comprises a first initiation device arranged to initiate a use of a preparation mode based on the driver's request, where the vehicle, during such preparation mode, prepares the vehicle to use an increased fraction of the power, generated by the engine in the vehicle, for the propulsion of the vehicle. The system also comprises a second initiation device arranged to initiate a use of the temporary performance mode, wherein such temporary performance mode uses the increased fraction of the power generated, released by the preparation mode, to provide a temporary performance boost for at least one feature relating to the propulsion of the vehicle.

Methods and systems are provided for control of a combustion engine in a vehicle. In operation, at least one future speed profile for an actual speed of the vehicle is simulated during a road section ahead based on information about the road section and on knowledge that coasting with the combustion engine shut down will be applied during the road section. Subsequently, based on the future speed profile, a starting point in time is determined, when the combustion engine will need to be started for forward driving the vehicle and/or to brake the vehicle. Subsequently, a starting point brought forward in time is determined based on the need for a forward driving or braking force arising, where the starting point brought forward in time precedes the starting point in time. Subsequently, the combustion engine is controlled to be started at the starting point brought forward in time.

Temperature dependent enhancement for brake-to-steer

A number of variations are disclosed including a computer program product and method of modifying brake-to-steer brake pressure commands, based on brake temperature, in real time as well as to create temperature dependent powertrain control and temperature dependent brake cooling.

A computer system determines, by taking into account topography information of a stretch of road to be travelled by a vehicle, to which extent service braking can be applied before the service brake of the vehicle is expected to overheat upon travelling the stretch of road, and reserves an amount of energy to be stored in an energy storage system of the vehicle for allowing endurance braking of the vehicle to avoid causing overheating of the service brake. The amount of energy reserved is adapted to the extent to which the service braking is determined to be applied upon the vehicle traveling the stretch of road.

COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF A VEHICLE

A computer system configured to control operation of a vehicle. The computer system configured to save a data set associated with a path segment during travel of a data collecting vehicle along the path segment, the path segment comprising a plurality of target locations, wherein the data set comprises subsets of data points relating to a location and heading of the vehicle at each target location. Further configured to determine an operating profile for controlling operation of a target vehicle during subsequent travel along the path segment, the target vehicle comprising a service brake cooled by a brake cooling fluid, the operating profile being determined such that a temperature of the brake cooling fluid meets a temperature criterion, and during subsequent travel, activate the operating profile in response to detecting that a set of activation criteria is fulfilled, comprising criteria relating to a weight, a location, and a heading of the target vehicle.
