TRAVELING CONTROL APPARATUS
A traveling control apparatus for a vehicle includes a steering angle detector, a vehicle speed detector, and a cruise control unit. The cruise control unit includes a steering angle speed detector, a steering angle correction value setting unit, and a target acceleration rate setting unit. The steering angle correction value setting unit sets a steering angle correction value, on the basis of a speed of the vehicle detected by the vehicle speed detector and a steering angle speed calculated by the steering angle speed detector. The target acceleration rate setting unit sets a target acceleration rate of a cruise control, on the basis of a steering angle and the speed of the vehicle. The steering angle is based on an addition of the steering angle correction value set by the steering angle correction value setting unit to the steering angle absolute value detected by the steering angle detector.
STEERING CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD IN AUTONOMOUS DRIVING MODE
A steering control apparatus includes: a command steering angle acceleration detector configured to detect a command steering angle acceleration, in an autonomous driving mode, using a command steering angle inputted from an autonomous driving system; an autonomous driving determiner configured to determine whether to cancel the autonomous driving mode using any one or any combination of any two or more of a column torque of a steering shaft, a vehicle speed of a vehicle, and the command steering angle acceleration; and a steering angle controller configured to control a steering angle, in the autonomous driving mode, by adjusting a gain according to a steering angle error between the command steering angle and a current steering angle, based on an output from the command steering angle acceleration detector.
Vehicle movement control device
The present invention provides a vehicle movement control device which is capable of achieving stable vehicle behavior during the movement of a vehicle in lane changing mode. When calculating a travel path for turning a vehicle to the left side or the right side and then turning the vehicle to the other side, this vehicle movement control device calculates the travel path so that the peak value of the curvature of the travel path decreases in a section where the vehicle speed is higher.
Parking control method and parking control device
A parking control apparatus includes an input device configured to acquire an operation command acquired from inside or outside of a vehicle and a control device configured to control the vehicle in accordance with the operation command. The control device is configured to make a determination whether or not an occupant is present inside a vehicle interior of the vehicle and control the vehicle to park in accordance with a result of the determination.
Rider selectable ride comfort system for autonomous vehicle
An autonomous mode controller of an autonomous vehicle according to various rider-selectable comfort configurations. When the controller identifies a comfort configuration, it will access a configuration data set that corresponds to the selected comfort configuration. The controller also will receive sensor data from one or more autonomous driving sensors. In response to the received sensor data, the controller will generate an instruction for operation of a steering, braking, powertrain or other subsystem for operation of the autonomous vehicle. The instruction while includes values that correspond to the sensed data and to one or more parameters of the configuration data set. The subsystem will then cause the autonomous vehicle to move according to the instruction.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A control system for a vehicle is provided, which includes an accelerator pedal and a steering wheel configured to be operated by a driver, an accelerator opening sensor configured to detect an accelerator opening corresponding to operation of the accelerator pedal, a steering angle sensor configured to detect a steering angle corresponding to operation of the steering wheel, and a controller configured to set an additional deceleration to be applied to the vehicle in order to control a posture of the vehicle based on the detected steering angle, when the steering wheel is turned, and apply the additional deceleration to the vehicle. The controller sets the additional deceleration based on the detected accelerator opening, in addition to the steering angle, and sets the additional deceleration larger while the vehicle is towing than while the vehicle is not towing, when the additional decelerations are compared at the same accelerator opening.
Steering device
A steering device includes a steering wheel, a torsion bar, a spiral cable, a torque sensor, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to compute a rotational angle of the steering wheel. The electronic control unit is configured to compute, as driver torque, a value that includes a sum obtained by adding torsion bar torque, a steering wheel inertial torque compensation value and a spiral cable torque compensation value. The steering wheel inertial torque compensation value is the product of a steering wheel inertial moment and a second-order differential value of the rotational angle of the steering wheel. The spiral cable torque is torque that acts on the steering wheel because of the spiral cable.
ROAD FRICTION ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES
Techniques are described for estimating road friction between a road and tires of a vehicle. A method includes receiving, from a temperature sensor on a vehicle, a temperature value that indicates a temperature of an environment in which a vehicle is operated, determining a first range of friction values that quantify a friction between a road and tires of a vehicle based on a function of the temperature value and an extent of precipitation in a region that indicate a hazardous driving condition, obtaining, from the first range of friction values, a value that quantifies the friction between the road and the tires of the vehicle, where the value is obtained based on a driving related behavior of the vehicle, and causing the vehicle to operate on the road based on the value obtained from the first range of friction values.
Method for ending a drive of a transportation vehicle
A method for terminating driving on the road shoulder by a transportation vehicle includes detection by a detection unit that the transportation vehicle is situated at least partially on a road shoulder, determination of a steering intensity of a manual steering maneuver, and assignment of one of at least two predetermined steering codes to the steering maneuver by a computing unit as a function of the steering intensity. An automatic intervention into a transportation vehicle control is carried out as a function of the assigned steering code.
Vehicle handling system and method
A method and system include a vehicle system including a plurality of vehicles. The system includes a handling unit comprising a communication device and a controller. The communication device receives first position data for a first vehicle of the vehicle system and second position data for a second vehicle of the vehicle system relative to a route on which the vehicle system is traveling. The controller determines that the first vehicle is entering into a curved portion of the route, and generates a control signal based on the first and second position data. The control signal changes an operating parameter of at least one of the first or second vehicles to control a separation distance between the vehicles or a deviation distance between respective travel paths taken by the first and second vehicles through the curved portion of the route.
