BALL FOR GAME AND RULES OF PLAY

A game ball is disclosed which may be tossed and caught using a cup according to rules of game play. An example game ball includes a spherical body defined by a central axis extending between a first pole and a second pole on opposite ends of the spherical body. The spherical body is further defined by a plurality of equally spaced longitudinal lines extending between the first pole and the second pole. The spherical body is further defined by an equatorial circumference that is uniformly equidistant from the first pole and the second pole. A plurality of rib structures of the spherical body are provided substantially symmetrical about the longitudinal lines between the first pole and the second pole of the spherical body.

Golf ball

A golf ball having a North pole and a South pole, an equator and a primary meridian, the equator and primary meridian divide the ball into North, South, East and West hemispheres, and Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest quadrants. A grid pattern projected on the ball surface divides the ball laterally and longitudinally into a number of overlapping zones. The dimples within the zones have average depths hex, hsx, hpx, hei, hsi and hpi and selected values of e, s and p which are the difference between the minimum and maximum values of the relative ratios of the dimple depths, hex.sub.r/hei.sub.r, hsx.sub.r/hsi.sub.r and hpx.sub.r/hpi.sub.r determined when the ball is rotated by a value of from 0 to 360 about its polar axis.

Golf ball dimple plan shape defined by Clausen function

The present disclosure is directed to golf balls having improved aerodynamic performance due, at least in part, to the selection of the plan shapes of the dimples thereon. In particular, the present invention is directed to a golf ball that includes at least a portion of its dimples having a plan shape defined by a Clausen function of order 2 mapped along a simple closed path. Additionally, the present invention provides methods for designing dimples having a plan shape defined by a Clausen function of order 2 mapped along a simple closed path.

PICKLEBALL BALL

A ball for playing pickleball includes a spherical shell. The spherical shell includes an interior surface and an exterior surface. The spherical shell includes a plurality of holes spaced about the shell that extend from the interior surface to the exterior surface. The plurality of holes includes more than forty holes. The ball defines a first half and a second half that are structurally identical.

Heptagonal dipyramid dimple pattern for a golf ball

A golf ball has a generally spherical surface and a plurality of dimples formed on the surface. The dimples are arranged in a dimple pattern defined by a heptagonal dipyramid projected on the surface. The pattern includes fourteen substantially identical dimple sections including seven dimple sections in a first hemisphere and seven dimple sections in a second hemisphere.

A pickleball ball comprising a hollow sphere with a plurality of holes arranged on the hollow sphere and an attached or integrated wear-and-tear indicator is described. In some examples, the wear-and-tear indicator may comprise a multi-layered painted indicator on the outer surface of the hollow core. The multi-layered painted indicator may be applied throughout the outer surface. The multi-layered painted indicator may comprise two or more layers of different materials with different durability characteristics. The different materials may each have a different color and/or texture.
