Systems and methods for skid recovery using front wheel slip
System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to skid recovery for a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method for controlling a vehicle during skid includes obtaining data indicating a skid condition of the vehicle, determining whether the skid condition can be corrected by counter-steering, and executing an intervention when the skid condition cannot be corrected by counter-steering, the intervention including inducing slippage in front wheels of the vehicle to change a direction and/or magnitude of lateral forces at the front wheels.
VEHICLE TRACTION AND ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle includes a first axle, second axle, first clutch, second clutch, and controller. The first and second axles are coupled by a driveshaft. The first and second clutches are configured to isolate the driveshaft from loads transferred through the first and second axles, respectively, when open. The controller is programmed to, in response to a difference between output speeds of the first and second axles exceeding a first threshold, close the second clutch, reduce the difference such that it is below a second threshold, and close the first clutch.
Traction control method and apparatus for a work vehicle with independent drives
A method and apparatus for controlling traction of a vehicle with independent drives or motors connected to the wheels or other ground engaging apparatuses. Nominal torque allocations can be determined for a set of motors, the motors connected to ground engaging elements and including a front set of motors and a rear set of motors. The nominal torque allocations can be modified based on a lateral differential correction and a fore-aft differential correction to produce modified torque commands and the modified torque commands can be applied to the set of motors.
Vehicle traction control method, system, controller and vehicle with such a system
A vehicle control strategy provides for automatically controlled movement from rest with deliberate wheel slip to maximize thrust. Different wheel slip conditions are provided for different terrain types. Wheel slip may be progressively reduced as the vehicle reaches a steady state speed. The strategy may also be implemented to maintain vehicle progress on low friction surfaces. The vehicle driver may be commanded to vary a control input, such as accelerator pedal position.
VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE
A vehicle control apparatus includes an additional yaw moment decider that decides an additional yaw moment based on a yaw rate of a vehicle, a spin tendency determiner that makes a determination as to a spin tendency of the vehicle, a rotation difference decider that decides a rotation difference control amount for controlling a difference in rotation between left and right front wheels of the vehicle so as to reduce the difference in rotation, when the vehicle is determined to have the spin tendency, a rear wheel braking/driving force decider that decides a rear wheel braking/driving force control amount for controlling braking/driving forces of left and right rear wheels of the vehicle based on the additional yaw moment, and a front wheel braking/driving force decider that decides a front wheel braking/driving force control amount for controlling braking/driving forces of the left and right front wheels of the vehicle.
Driving force adjusting device and adjusting method
A driving force adjusting device includes an input unit configured for receiving an input of a selection distribution ratio, which is a ratio of driving force generation of front wheels and rear wheels selected by a user, a receiving unit configured for receiving driving information of a vehicle, a driving force determination unit configured for determining a driving force distribution ratio, which is a driving force generation ratio of the front wheels and the rear wheels, and determining driving force of the front wheels and the rear wheels using the driving force distribution ratio, and a driving control unit configured for controlling a driving unit generating driving force of the vehicle based on the driving force determined by the driving force determination unit.
