A sports ball for use in baseball-type games includes a hollow, substantially spherical plastic ball that has a plurality of substantially planar, intersecting regions covering an outer surface thereof. Preferably the ball also has a weight that is substantially less than a weight of a regulation baseball, for enhancing safety in use. The sports system further includes a bat for use with the ball, or with any similar ball, preferably a plastic ball. The bat is a hollow, elongated member that has a handle portion adjacent a bottom end and a barrel portion between the handle portion and a top end. The bat further has a sheath surrounding at least a portion of the barrel portion. The sheath has a coefficient of friction higher than a coefficient of friction of a surface of the barrel portion, for imparting traction to a struck ball.

A hollow, compressible or rigid hollow body has mechanical means of retaining devices such as sound generators, scent capsules, LED lights and vibrating mechanisms and identifying or responding detection elements held, secured and locked therein without the use of any solvents, glues, sonic welding, spin welding or other bonding materials. The hollow contaminant-free bodies are particularly useful for animals and recreation. Some of the above contain carcinogens harmful to animals if ingested.

A ball pit apparatus for use with a plurality of balls. The ball pit apparatus includes: a base portion configured to provide a ball pit for holding a plurality of balls, wherein the base portion includes one or more inflatable side walls configured to, when inflated, extend around a periphery of the base portion; a roof portion configured to provide a ball chamber for holding a plurality of balls above the base portion; one or more inflatable supports configured to, when inflated, hold the roof portion above the base portion; a suction inlet configured to be in fluid communication with the ball chamber so that, when suction is provided at the suction inlet, suction is also provided to the ball chamber; a ball inlet configured to be in fluid communication with the ball chamber so that, when suction is provided to the ball chamber, a ball received at the ball inlet is drawn into the ball chamber. The roof portion includes an opening configured to face the base portion when the one or more inflatable supports are inflated. The roof portion includes at least one blocking element configured to block the opening so as to prevent balls from falling through the opening when suction is provided to the ball chamber and to not block the opening so as to allow balls to fall through the opening when suction is not provided to the ball chamber.

A spherical ball is for throwing with a spin so that the ball curves and rises during flight. The spherical ball may include a body defining an internal cavity therein, and an outer surface. The outer surface may include solid planar surfaces, each and every one of the solid planar surfaces directly adjoining multiple adjacent ones of the solid planar surfaces. The directly adjoining multiple adjacent ones of the solid planar surfaces may define a repeating pattern having a pentagon-shaped solid planar surface surrounded by hexagon-shaped solid planar surfaces. A game ball of composite construction, having a spherical hollow shell, with a pattern of perforation or holes arranged on and through the surface thereof, to substantially increase the aerodynamic drag upon the composite, and thereby effective reduce the distance the composite can travel upon being struck by a bat or club. In order to modulate and better emulate or mimic the feel and track of the composite in play, the composite is further modified by the inclusion of a plurality of randomly ordered discrete spherical elements, within said hollow shell, to effectively displacing about 50% of the interior volume of the hollow shell, and thereby contributing from about 20% up to about 75% to the mass of said composite In the composite embodiment of this invention game ball is a golf ball.

A noise-dampening ball for use in the game of pickleball is disclosed. The ball includes a novel layering arrangement which reduces noise generated during play without the need for a player to utilize an alternative paddle while falling within the size and weight standards established by the official body which oversees the sport. The ball demonstrates standard bounce characteristics while allowing the play to be undertaken without the level of noise currently experienced by pickleball players utilizing a conventional ball.

A toy water ball includes at least two shells that are enclosable to form a water storage cavity, each of the shells including: a mounting frame, a magnetic member and a water pocket mounted on the mounting frame. The mounting frame includes a first surface and a second surface oppositely arranged in a thickness direction thereof. When the shells are enclosed to form the water storage cavity, magnetic members of adjacent shells attract each other, and second surfaces of adjacent shells abut each other. The mounting frame is provided with an accommodation groove, a notch of the accommodation groove is located on the first surface, the magnetic member is installed in the accommodation groove, and the water pocket is connected to the first surface, and covers the notch of the accommodation groove on the first surface to seal the magnetic member in the mounting frame.
