Travel Safety Control

A system and method for encouraging a user of a recreational vehicle to wear safety equipment is described. The helmet contains a microprocessor and sensors to determine if the helmet is worn. The helmet communicates with the vehicle and the vehicle either disables operation or allows limited operation if the helmet is not worn. On motorized vehicles, the motor operation is restricted. On human powered vehicles mechanical resistance may limit operation.

Vehicle, a hybrid power system thereof and a control method therefor

Disclosed are a hybrid power system of a vehicle and a control method therefor. The hybrid power system of a vehicle comprises: an engine; a dual-clutch automatic transmission comprising an ISG motor; a first power unit and a second power unit; a power battery, the power battery being connected to the ISG motor by the first power unit; a power battery manager, the power battery manager being connected to the power battery and used to test an SOC of the power battery; a rear wheel drive motor, the rear wheel drive motor being connected to the power battery by the second power unit, and the rear wheel drive motor being connected to a rear speed reducer of the vehicle; and a vehicle controller, the vehicle controller being connected to the power battery manager, and the vehicle controller controlling the vehicle to enter a corresponding operating mode according to the SOC and drive required torque WTD at a wheel of the vehicle. The hybrid power system of a vehicle and the control method therefor can ensure that a vehicle operates in the best operating mode, thereby improving the performance of the vehicle.

HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVE APPARATUS

A hybrid electric vehicle drive apparatus has a setting portion for setting a limit value of a driving torque that a motor outputs when driving a hybrid electric vehicle by the power of the motor only, based on a maximum torque that the motor enables to output and a starting torque used to start an internal combustion engine by the motor. The setting portion sets the limit value to a first value and sets the limit value to a second value which is greater than the first value when a vehicle speed of the vehicle does not increase even though an accelerator pedal position degree increases while the vehicle is being driven only by the motor.

HYBRID VEHICLE

A hybrid vehicle is equipped with an engine that is connected to a power split mechanism, a generator, an electric motor, and also a stepped transmission that is arranged between the electric motor and a drive shaft. An electronic control unit (an ECU) with which this hybrid vehicle is equipped revises a down line downward to make a downshift likely to occur when at least one of a prescribed generator condition and a prescribed electric motor condition is fulfilled. The generator condition includes that the temperature of the generator is equal to or higher than a first reference temperature and that an absolute value of a rotational speed of the generator decreases due to the making of the downshift. The electric motor condition includes that the temperature of the electric motor is equal to or higher than a third reference temperature.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE DRIVING DEVICE

A control device for controlling a vehicle driving device provided with a transmission apparatus including a plurality of engagement devices in a power transmission path between a driving force source and a wheel and selectively forming a plurality of transmission shift stages having different transmission shift ratios depending on engagement states of the plurality of engagement devices.

A hybrid vehicle control device is provided for controlling a drive system in a hybrid vehicle. The hybrid vehicle control device is provided with a hybrid control module that begins engagement of a clutch, and cranks a transverse engine using a motor/generator as a drive source, when a request is made to start an engine in an EV mode. The hybrid control module has a normal start mode and a sound and vibration prioritizing startup mode as engine startup modes. The normal start mode prioritizes drive force response performance. The sound and vibration prioritizing startup mode prioritizes sound and vibration reduction performance. If a drive range is selected and the vehicle is stopped when an engine startup request is made, then the sound and vibration prioritizing startup mode is selected, and the transverse engine is started.
