Method of starting a combustion engine of a driving vehicle
In a method for controlling a vehicle with a drive system comprising an output shaft of a combustion engine and a planetary gear with a first and a second electrical machine, connected via their rotors to the components of the planetary gear, the combustion engine is started while the vehicle is driven by ensuring that the rotor of the second electrical machine is connected with the output shaft of the combustion engine, and controlling such electrical machine's rotational speed towards the combustion engine's idling speed, whereupon fuel injection into the combustion engine is carried out to start the latter.
Method of turning off a combustion engine of a driving vehicle
In a method for controlling a vehicle with a drive system comprising an output shaft in a combustion engine, a planetary gear and a first and second electrical machine connected to the planetary gear, the turning off of the combustion engine is achieved when the vehicle is driven with the combustion engine running, and a transition to operation of the vehicle with the electrical machines is achieved by ensuring that the second electrical machine's rotor is connected with the combustion engine's output shaft, that injection of fuel into the combustion engine is interrupted and that the second electrical machines rotational speed is controlled towards and until a standstill, whereupon the combustion engine's output shaft is disconnected from the second electrical machine and the planetary gear.
Method of locking a planetary gearing when driving a vehicle
In a method for controlling a vehicle with a drive system comprising a power unit configuration adapted to provide power for the vehicle's operation, and further comprising a planetary gear and a first and second electrical machine, connected to components in the planetary gear via their rotors, a locking means is moved from a release position, in which the planetary gear's components are free to rotate independently of each other, to a locked position, in which two of the planetary gear's components are locked together, so that the three components in the planetary gear rotate with the same speed. The power unit configuration is controlled in order to achieve a synchronous, or substantially synchronous, rotational speed between the input and output shaft of the planetary gear, and the locking means are then moved to the locked position.
Vehicle drive control
A method for controlling a drive of a vehicle with at least one first axle having at least one mounted wheel. A drive torque is specified by a driver of the vehicle, and the first axle is driven by means of a first electric machine dependent on the drive torque. A second electric machine which is coupled to an internal combustion engine provides electrical energy for driving the first axle with the first electric machine. A respective control or target torque assigned to the second electric machine and the internal combustion engine is computed while taking into consideration the drive torque and machine parameters of at least the second electric machine. The second electric machine and the internal combustion engine are each regulated with respect to the assigned control torque or with respect to the assigned target torque.
VARIABLE POWER TAKE-OFF WITH ELECTRIC GENERATING CAPACITY
A power take-off system and method is provided for a vehicle that includes an internal combustion engine, an electrical generator, an electrical machine, a power take-off summing planetary and a power take-off brake. The power take-off system includes a controller and a human-machine interface. The controller is configured to receive an input from the human-machine interface to select one of a variable speed power take-off mode, an electrical power generation mode, and a full power fixed ratio power take-off mode of operation. In the variable speed power take-off mode, electrical power from the electrical generator and rotational power by the power take-off system are output, and the electrical machine receives electricity and provides rotational power. In the electrical power generation mode, the electrical generator and the electrical machine both provide electrical power. In the full power fixed ratio mode, no electrical power is provided.
Method of supplying electrical appliances of a vehicle
Disclosed is a method for control of a vehicle with a drive system comprising an output shaft in a combustion engine and a planetary gear with a first and a second electrical machine connected via their rotors to the components in the planetary gear, a supply of electrical power to electrical auxiliary units and/or loads present in the vehicle is carried out, by way of the combustion engine being kept running with its output shaft connected with the second electrical machine's rotor, and the electrical auxiliary units and/or loads being supplied with electrical power via the first electrical machine and/or the second electrical machine.
DRIVE SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
A drive system is configured to split driving force produced by an engine to a first motor side and an output gear side, and add driving force produced by a second motor that is driven with electric power generated by the first motor, to the driving force delivered from the output gear. A first planetary gear mechanism performs differential operation, using a first input element that receives the driving force produced by the engine, a first reaction-force element coupled to the first motor, and a first output element. A second planetary gear mechanism performs differential operation, using a second input element coupled to the first output element, a second output element coupled to the output gear, and a second reaction-force element. A first clutch mechanism selectively couples the first input element with the second reaction-force element. A first brake mechanism selectively inhibits rotation of the second reaction-force element.
