Containers with foldable carrying handles and method for preparing same for transportation

A container configured to hold one or more items for transportation. The container can comprise: a base; two opposing end walls; two opposing sidewalls; and a lid. The opposing side walls each can comprise a side flap with an opening. The lid can comprise two opposing top panels and two handle flaps. Each of the two opposing top panels can be foldably coupled to a different one of the two opposing end walls. Each of the two handle flaps can be foldably coupled to a different one of the two opposing top panels. When the container is in a closed configuration, a handle can be formed by the two handle flaps and comprise two engagement end tabs located at two opposing ends of the handle. The handle can be removably coupled to the side flaps by the engagement end tabs engaging with the openings of the side flaps. The handle can be configured to be rotatable while the engagement end tabs remain engaged with the openings of the side flaps. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Machine and method for forming reinforced polygonal containers from blanks

A method of forming a container from a blank of sheet material using a machine is provided. The blank includes a bottom panel, two side panels, two end panels, and a reinforcing panel assembly extending from a first side panel. The machine includes a hopper station, a corner post forming station, and a plunger station. The method includes rotating the reinforcing panel assembly upwardly toward the first side panel as the blank is transported from the hopper station to the corner post forming station, forming a corner wall and a reinforcing end tab by folding reinforcing panels about fold lines as the blank is transported through the corner post forming station, rotating the side panels and the end panels to be substantially perpendicular to the bottom panel by directing the blank through the plunger station, and coupling the reinforcing end tab to an end panel to form the container.

Carton With Article Protection Insert

A carton for containing a plurality of articles. The carton includes a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton. The plurality of panels comprising a top panel, a bottom panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel. An article protection insert comprises a plurality of features for engaging a respective article of the plurality of articles. At least one access feature is in the top panel for positioning the article protection insert to a position wherein the features engage at least one article of the plurality of articles.

A package includes a carton (10) and a plurality of articles (B). The carton includes carton walls (14, 16, 26b/30b) and at least one handle structure (HA2) formed from at least one (26b/30b) of the carton walls. The at least one handle structure includes a tab (44b) formed from the at least one of the carton walls. The tab is hingedly connected, by a hinged connection (42b), to the at least one of the carton walls and arranged to fold at least in part about an article disposed within the carton to form at least a portion of a handle opening (40b) so as to allow a user (U) to grasp a portion of the article and the carton disposed adjacent to the article.

A carrier includes a front portion with a first plurality of panels and a back portion with a second plurality of panels. The first plurality of panels at least partially surrounds a front interior space for receiving at least one container and includes a front panel, a front central panel, and at least one front side panel. The second plurality of panels at least partially surrounds a back interior space for receiving at least one container and includes a back panel, a back central panel, and at least one back side panel. The front central panel and the back central panel are separably connected at a line of weakening and are at least partially in face-to-face contact in a first configuration of the carrier, the carrier is positionable to a second configuration wherein the front portion and the back portion are at least partially separated at the line of weakening.

The container includes a first panel having a first engagement feature, a second panel having a second engagement feature, and a third panel having a third engagement feature. The first engagement feature is configured to engage with the second engagement feature so as to secure the container in the three-dimensional configuration. The first engagement feature is also configured to engage with the third engagement feature so as to inhibit the first engagement feature from becoming disengaged from the second engagement feature.

Corrugated boxes, box blanks, and systems for individually shipping a bag of liquid stored therein and converting into a bag-in-box dispenser are provided. An example box comprises a top portion with a removable perforation feature defined on a front wall. A bottom portion is sized to fit within an opening of the top portion and includes a cut-out feature in a front wall that aligns with the perforation feature of the top portion when the box is formed. The removed perforation feature and the cut-out feature enable a dispensing valve of a stored bag to extend past/through both front walls when the box is converted into the bag-in-box dispenser. The box is configured to store a bag of liquid ranging from 2 to 10 liters and is designed to pass individual box shipping test standards, such as ISTA and SIOC test standards. Methods of forming the box are also provided.

A system or method for packaging is disclosed including a packaging container with one or more flaps, optionally a packaging liner, one or more carrying handles on the packaging container, a first tear strip located on a top face of the packaging container, a second tear strip located on a bottom face of the packaging container, and one or more tabs located on the first and second tear strips. The system or method may include the use of a remnant flap on the top face of the packaging container to retain the packaging container in a closed position.

A reinforced package comprising a carton comprising a front panel, a first side panel foldably connected to the front panel along a first fold line, a back panel foldably connected to at least the first side panel along a second fold line, and a second side panel foldably connected to at least one of the front and back panels. A bag is at least partially attached to the carton. An access feature can be selectively opened for receiving products into the interior space of the bag. The access feature extends in at least a portion of the carton and the bag. The carton can be positionable in a non-erect position wherein the interior space of the bag is at least partially collapsed and in an erect position wherein the interior space of the bag is increased. The first side panel and the second side panel comprise retention features for retaining the carton in the erect position.
