VEHICLE DRIVEN BY AN ELECTRIC MOTOR
A vehicle driven by an electric motor includes a drive unit (16) with at least one electric motor (18), with at least one energy storage device (22) permanently installed in the vehicle and an actuating unit (24) for controlling the flow of energy between the at least one electric motor (18) and the at least one energy storage device (22) permanently installed in the vehicle. An interface (30) has with at least one terminal area (32, 34, 36) for a replaceable energy storage device (38, 40).
Exhaust Particulate Filter Regeneration
A system for regenerating an emissions particulate filter that filters particulates from exhaust generated by an engine of a vehicle. The system includes an electric heater and a generator. The electric heater heats the emissions particulate filter to burn off exhaust particulates that have accumulated on the emissions particulate filter. The generator converts kinetic energy of the vehicle into electricity during regenerative braking of the vehicle. Electricity generated by the generator powers the electric heater. Energy used to power the electric heater can also come from engine load shifting.
Systems and methods for reconfigurable electric vehicles
Utilization of shared vehicles that are structurally and reversibly reconfigurable to suit requests for particular vehicle configurations is described. Vehicle use is monitored for plural vehicles shared among multiple users/uses. In response to a first request for a first particular configuration of a vehicle, a first vehicle is selected/provided in the first particular configuration having a predetermined first feature set, the first feature set being automatically set based on the first vehicle being placed in the first particular configuration. In response to a second use request for a second particular configuration of a vehicle different from the first particular configuration, the first vehicle is selected/provided in the second particular configuration having a predetermined second feature set, the second feature set being automatically set at the first vehicle based on the first vehicle being placed in the second particular configuration, the first feature set being different from the second feature set.
BICYCLE HUB UNIT
A bicycle hub unit configured to be stably coupled to a frame of a bicycle includes a hub axle and a rotation restriction member. The hub axle is configured to be coupled to the frame of the bicycle. The rotation restriction member is configured to couple the hub axle to the frame so that rotation relative to the hub axle and the frame is restricted. At least one of the hub axle and the rotation restriction member has a cable guide structure configured to guide a cable, which electrically connects an electric component and an electronic component, in a region including the rotation restriction member in an axial direction parallel to a center longitudinal axis of the hub axle.
TIRE ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM
An energy recovery system for a vehicle including a battery assembly with a battery providing input electricity, and an amplifier receiving the input electricity and providing amplified input electricity, and a wheel assembly in contact with road deformations to provide output electricity to the battery assembly. The tire assembly having a tire assembly with a tire, and a plurality of electroactive modules affixed to the tire to provide the output electricity when the vehicle goes over the road deformations, and a rim assembly with a rim affixed to the tire, and a dual slip ring connector affixed to the rim transmitting the amplified input electricity from the amplifier to the plurality of electroactive modules and the output electricity from the plurality of electroactive modules to the battery, while the vehicle is in motion.
ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM
An electric vehicle propulsion system includes an electric motor and a battery pack formed as a single, integrated unit. It is a self-contained, integrated electric propulsion system. It disrupts the long-established engineering paradigm that the electric motor and the battery pack have to be designed, built and installed as separate systems.
Torque roll axis mounting system for serial range extenders without a through-drive
A mounting device is provided for oscillatingly mounting a range extender, which consists of an internal combustion engine and a generator, on a body and/or a chassis of a motor vehicle by way of vibration-damping elements. At least two of the vibration-damping elements are integrated in load-carrying bearings and one additional one is integrated in a supporting bearing for supporting moments. The mounting device is characterized in that the vibration-damping elements of the mounting device at least for the load-carrying bearings are secured to the range extender, i.e. a first vibration-damping element is secured to the internal combustion engine and a second vibration-damping element is secured to the generator.
Pneumatic power and drag system
Power systems, heat exchanger systems, electrical regeneration systems and air drag reduction systems for a wheeled vehicle are provided. The systems comprise a vehicle that includes a compressed air system and electrical system. The power and drag reduction system also comprises a plurality of pneumatic motors, one each connected to each wheel, the pneumatic motors using compressed air to drive each wheel. The electrical system supports vehicle braking and regenerates electricity for vehicle batteries. A heat exchanger heats expanding air and is configured to substantially evenly distribute said heated air to the pneumatic motors. Air from a front grill is diverted to impellers that turn electric generators to regenerate power and reduce drag. A drag reducing arrangement blending mirrors with camera into the vehicle body is included as is a plug-in 120-volt trickle charge system and a quick charge (DC) system for battery charging.
