An auxiliary member for a neck-hanging article is provided. The neck-hanging article has a strap body. The auxiliary member includes a first end and a second end. The first end is coupled to a contact part of the strap body. The second end is detachably coupled to an object loaded by a user, so that a stress exerted by the strap body is diverted from a neck of the user to the loaded object.

Devices and methods disclosed here can include a foot mount, such as an action camera foot mount. The action camera foot mount can include a harness having a toe loop and an ankle loop. The harness can include an elastic material and can be in tension between the toe loop and the ankle loop. The toe loop can encircle a toe of the user and the ankle loop can encircle an ankle of the user to secure the harness to the foot of the user. In an example, at least one midportion can be disposed between the toe loop and the ankle loop of the harness. A base member can be coupled to the harness and the base member can include a camera mount for attaching an action camera to the harness. In an example, the base member can be slidably coupled along the midportion.

A video recording device, holster and article of clothing are disclosed to reliably and covertly provide for the capture of video, audio, and metadata, and perform other commands. The holster may be provided with a carrier that is, in turn, inserted into the holster. In one embodiment, the holster may be confirmed as being associated with the video recording device to authenticate a user, and establishes a docked position. Moreover, the video recording device may enter a mode of operation associated with using the video recording apparatus automatically when inserted into a holster.

A camera mount for coupling a camera to a user's wrist is described. The camera mount includes a swivel component that rotates relative to a wrist component when an above-threshold amount of force is applied on the swivel component. A rippled spring component is coupled between the swivel component and the wrist component, and exerts an outward force upon the swivel component in response to a compressive force exerted on the rippled spring component by the swivel component. A strap couples to each of two sides of the wrist mount component, and is configured to secure the camera mount to the user's wrist. The camera mount can additionally include a base component and a padding component, and a screw to couple each camera mount component together.

A camera mount includes an arm. The arm has an attachment mechanism at one end of the arm for attaching the arm to a helmet. The arm extends downward in a substantially vertical direction from the helmet when attached via the attachment mechanism to the helmet. The arm has a second attachment mechanism at an opposite end of the arm for attaching the arm to a camera, such that the camera is positioned below a head of a body when attached via the second attachment mechanism to the camera and when the helmet is positioned on the head of the body.

The strap may be stretchable and durable such that it may hold various size holsters with a heavy firearm, camera, or another item.
