MULTI-FACETED MEMS MIRROR DEVICE USEFUL FOR VEHICLE LIDAR
An illustrative example MEMS device includes a base and a plurality of mirror surfaces supported on the base. The plurality of mirror surfaces are respectively in a fixed position relative to the base. The plurality of mirror surfaces are at respective angles relative to a reference surface. The respective angles of at least some of the mirror surfaces are different from the respective angles of at least some others of the mirror surfaces.

Systems and methods for determining pedal actuator states
A method of determining the state of a pedal actuator system within a vehicle includes receiving a position sensor signal indicative of a position of an actuator pedal within the pedal actuator system, receiving a force sensor signal indicative of a compressive force applied to the actuator pedal, and determining, with a processor, a state of the actuator pedal based on the position sensor signal and the force sensor signal. The state of the actuator pedal is one of a normal operating state and a fault state.
Motor vehicle accessory to increase power supply and reduce fuel requirements
A power control system may include at least one of batteries, a motor, and a data logic analyzer that can interpret certain variable conditions of a transport, such as a tractor trailer, moving along a road or highway. The data can be used to determine when to apply supplemental power to the wheels of a trailer to reduce fuel usage. One example device may include at least one of a power source affixed to a trailer to capture energy from movement of an axle of the trailer, and a motor powered by the power source to operate and provide movement assistance to the axle.
AUTOMATED PEDAL SENSOR PROFILE FOR SPEED CONTROL
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for automatically obtaining a profile for a set of accelerator pedal position sensors in a target vehicle. The profile can comprise a correlation of the position of the pedal to an output signal for one or more sensor in the set of sensors. A pedal position sensor signal reader can be used to automatically detect signals from one or more pedal position sensor in the target vehicle's accelerator pedal, while the pedal is released, depressed, and moving between the released and depressed positions. A pedal profile can be automatically generated using the output signals and corresponding pedal positions. Obtained data can be used to program a speed control device for the target vehicle. Correlated output can be used to adjust the speed of the vehicle by sending an emulated signal to the ECM, which may adjust the speed control system.

The data can be used to determine when to apply supplemental power to the wheels of a trailer to reduce fuel usage. One example device may include at least one of: a power creation module that generates electrical power, a battery which store the electrical power, a motor affixed to a trailer axle of a trailer which provides a turning force to the trailer axle when enabled to operate from the stored electrical power of the battery, and a motor controller configured to initiate the motor to operate according to a predefined sensor condition.
MULTI-WAY VALVE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A MULTI-WAY VALVE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A multi-way valve for a motor vehicle, having a housing, in which a lower and upper chamber are disposed one above the other along an axis of rotation and are separated from each other by a separating wall. A lower valve body is disposed in the lower chamber for rotation about the axis of rotation. An upper valve body is disposed in the upper chamber for rotation about the axis of rotation. A drive shaft drives the lower and upper valve bodies. The drive shaft is torque-transmittingly connected to one of the two valve bodies and said valve body is torque-transmittingly connected to the other of the two valve bodies. A checking device checks for a correct alignment, and, in the event of an incorrect relative alignment of the two valve bodies in the peripheral direction, a reaction to the incorrect alignment can be automatically triggered.
Display system
A display system includes a display processing device that controls display of an image, a posture detection device that detects a posture change amount of moving body, a correction processing device that sets a correction amount of display position of the image, a display determiner that determines whether or not to display the image, and a gradient change detector that detects a gradient change of a traveling path. The gradient change detector detects that a posture change of the moving body is started when an absolute value of the posture change amount is larger than a first threshold, and that the posture change is completed when the absolute value becomes smaller than a second threshold after start of the posture change. The display determiner determines not to display the image from start of the posture change until completion of the posture change.
Railcar bearing and wheel monitoring system
A system continuously monitors bearing temperature and wheel surface condition. The system may include a button contact sensor for sensing wheel bearing temperature and a measuring laser for detecting wheel breakage. The system may also include a vibration sensor, sound sensor, and a load sensor. Each sensor is in communication with a receiver/transmitter and may be mounted to the railcar by way of a friction lock magnetic mounting. Computer means may be used to store, analyze, and present the collected information for use in deciding whether, for example, the train should be slowed or stopped. A solar panel may provide power to the components.
LEVER INPUT DEVICE
A lever input device includes: a lever which is tiltable in a first direction orthogonal to an axis of the lever about the axis due to an operation by a user; a swing arm which engages with the lever and swings along with the tilting of the lever in the first direction and amplifies a displacement amount of the lever at the time of tilting; and a magnet body mounted on the swing arm, wherein the swing arm is elongated along a second direction which is a direction along the axis, is configured such that distance (D13) between a swing fulcrum and a mounting portion of the magnet body becomes larger than distance (D12) between the swing fulcrum of the swing arm and an engaging portion of the swing arm with the lever.
