System and method for inhibiting engine operation during fueling

A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, inhibiting operation of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle based on a proximity of the vehicle to a fueling location.

Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Safety System and Method
20250065832 · 2025-02-27 ·

A multiply-redundant system that prevents a driver from starting and/or moving a vehicle if a compressed natural gas fill system is not correctly and completely disconnected from the vehicle. One or more sensors in combination with one or more optional microswitches combine to lock-out the vehicle's ignition or otherwise prevent it from starting and/or moving. For different levels of safety, different combinations of sensors can be used with the lowest level having a single proximity sensor sensing the presence or absence of a high-pressure fill hose. The highest level of safety being achieved by having separate proximity sensors on the fuel fill hose fitting, the gas cap cover and a manual safety valve along with a redundant microswitch. An optional override that may be restricted as to the number of times it can be used can allow starting with a faulty sensor in order to allow maintenance.

Trailer-based energy capture and management

A through-the-road (TTR) hybridization strategy is proposed to facilitate introducing hybrid electric vehicle technology in a significant portion of current and expected trucking fleets. In some cases, the technologies can be retrofitted onto an existing vehicle (e.g., a trailer, a tractor-trailer configuration, etc.). In some cases, the technologies can be built into new vehicles. In some cases, one vehicle may be built or retrofitted to operate in tandem with another and provide the hybridization benefits contemplated herein. By supplementing motive forces delivered through a primary drivetrain and fuel-fed engine with supplemental torque delivered at one or more electrically-powered drive axles, improvements in overall fuel efficiency and performance may be delivered, typically without significant redesign of existing components and systems that have been proven in the trucking industry.

VEHICULAR PEDAL ASSEMBLY

A vehicular pedal assembly includes a pedal including a first support and a second support, a pedal shaft supported by the pedal housing for rotation about a pedal axis, a pedal arm drivably engaged with the pedal shaft to rotate the pedal shaft about the pedal axis, and a position sensor assembly coupled to the pedal shaft and operable to determine a rotational position of the pedal shaft and generate a signal based on the rotational position. The pedal shaft includes a first shaft portion coupled to the first support, a second shaft portion coupled to the second support, and a joint coupling the first shaft portion and the second shaft portion. The joint is positioned between the first support and the second support.

Solar energy generated and wireless charged mowing system and mower thereof
12330535 · 2025-06-17 · ·

A solar energy generated and wirelessly charged mowing system includes a mower and a wireless transmitting device. The mower includes a frame including a driving seat and a wheel set, an electrical driving device connected to the wheel set, an operating device adapted to be operated by a driver, a trimmer, an energy storage device, a solar energy converting device, a wireless receiving device, and a controlling device. The trimmer mows while the frame is moving. The energy storage device includes a rechargeable battery. The solar energy converting device has a solar panel for receiving and converting a solar energy to a first electricity. The wireless receiving device receives and converts a wireless charging energy of the wireless transmitting device to a second electricity. The first electricity and the second electricity charge the rechargeable battery. The controlling device controls the electrical driving device to drive the frame to move.

INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE AND IMAGE PROJECTION METHOD

A forklift (industrial vehicle) includes a travel control unit (detection unit) that detects a traveling direction and a traveling speed of the own vehicle, a generation unit that generates an animation image in which display information moves at the traveling speed in a direction opposite to the traveling direction, and a projection unit that projects the animation image onto a predetermined projection area on a road surface around the own vehicle.

Car seat abandonment prevention system
12344136 · 2025-07-01 ·

A car seat abandonment prevention system for alarming a driver of the presence of a child within a vehicle by sending a signal to a mobile device includes a vehicle having a driver seat and a back seat. A car seat is removably attached to a base to define a safety seat. A door position sensor is mounted to the vehicle and is activated when a driver positions a driver door of the vehicle in a closed position or in an open position. A seat position sensor is mounted to the safety seat and is activated when the driver attaches the car seat to the base of the safety seat or removes the car seat from the base of the safety seat.

Pedal unit for a vehicle

A pedal unit for a vehicle has a sensor surface which includes at least two functional regions and is designed to detect an actuation by the driver. The pedal unit also has at least one evaluation and control unit coupled to the sensor surface and designed to evaluate an actuation of one of the at least two functional regions detected by the sensor surface and, as a function of this evaluation, control a vehicle function associated with the corresponding functional region of the sensor surface. At least one region of the sensor surface is raised or lowered and enables a haptic differentiation between the at least two functional regions of the sensor surface.
