RADICAL POLYMERISATION INITIATORS FOR LIGHT-CURABLE DENTAL MATERIALS
The invention provides a light-curable dental material comprising a polymerizable compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated bond and a hexaaryl bisimidazole as a photopolymerisation initiator.
Apparatus for light-curing a dental object
The invention relates to an apparatus for irradiating an object, in particular for light-curing a dental object by means of a first radiation, the apparatus comprising at least one radiation source for emitting the first radiation, the apparatus further comprising at least one radiation sensor for measuring at least a second radiation, and the apparatus further comprising a housing. The second radiation is the first radiation reelected by the object.
AN ANATOMICAL DRAPE DEVICE
An anatomical drape, such as a dental drape, for covering a treatment area of an anatomical part, the drape comprising an elastomeric material capable of conforming to the contours of the anatomical part and including a curing agent wherein activation of the curing agent, for example by a light source, causes selective hardening of the stretched material to at least partially set the drape in a configuration conforming to the anatomical part. The semi-rigid set drape is liquid impermeable but gas permeable. A method of manufacturing the drape is also disclosed.
Method and Device for the Vibrational Mechanical Activation of Composite Materials
The invention relates to the field of dentistry and is used for reinforcing composite materials to eliminate various defects of dental hard tissues of carious and non-carious origin in the process of direct/indirect and reinforced/non-reinforced composite restorations. The claimed method includes vibrational mechanical activation of composite materials by vibrationally acting upon portions of composite material shaped by manual mechanical activation (e.g., roll/ball) and applied layer-by-layer to the region of a defect. A device for vibrational mechanical activation of a composite material includes at least one working portion for applying a composite material to the region of a defect, the working portion fixedly attached to a handle, which is connected by a framework to a micromotor that creates vibrations which are transferred via the working portion to a layer of composite material by distributing the same across the entire surface of the defect and achieving the simultaneous surface plastic deformation thereof.
DENTAL PROSTHESIS AND MOULDING METHOD
A dental prosthesis is disclosed includes a prosthetic tooth element comprising ceramic and a veneer located on a surface of the prosthetic tooth element, the veneer comprising cured dental composite. The prosthetic tooth element can be fixed to a mount in a patient's mouth using the same dental composite used for the veneer. A method of forming a prosthetic tooth element is disclosed including filling a mould that is formed at least partially from flexible polymeric material with a dental mixture comprising ceramic, and applying pressure to the filled mould to form a prosthetic tooth element comprising ceramic with a roughened surface.
POLYMERIZATION APPARATUS FOR DENTAL TECHNIQUE
An object is to provide a polymerization apparatus for dental technique with which both of preliminary polymerization and final polymerization can be carried out by one apparatus. The apparatus includes a plurality of light sources whose light axes run at least in two directions; a cover that covers the light sources, forms a polymerization space inside thereof and switches a formation and closure of an opening that communicates inside and outside the polymerization space; a sensor that detects the formation and closure of the opening by the cover; a controller that receives signals from the sensor, and based on the formation and closure of the opening, turns on some of the light sources having two or more directions of light axis with the opening closed, and turns on some of the light sources having fewer directions of light axis than with the opening closed, with the opening open.
DENTAL CURING LIGHT
An optical sensor for an instrument to form a closed-loop curing instrument that is configured to manage the quantity of delivered energy to a curable material, including a composite restoration for a tooth. The closed-loop curing instrument is configured to analyze a signal indicative of the light reflecting from the curable material, and to adjust light output based on the analysis.
SYSTEM AND DEVICES FOR MEASURING LIGHT SOURCES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The invention provides a system and related equipment for the precise measurement of the output characteristic of a light source, e.g., a dental light curing unit (LCU) or light for photodynamic therapy, using a light collector, a light detector, and a computer programmed to deliver the value of the output characteristic of the light source to the user. The systems allow for the determination of a proper 5 exposure time or the selection of a light source as needed for a specific application. The invention also provides a light device.
DENTAL RESTORATIVE SET AND METHOD OF RESTORING TOOTH
A dental restorative set includes a glass ionomer cement and a composite resin, wherein the composite resin contains a (meth)acrylate having an acid group.
DENTAL INSTRUMENT
A modular cord-less pen-style dental instrument comprising: (a) an elongated body for gripping and holding the instrument, which has a connector portion at the distal end thereof; (b) a wand portion having a proximal end adapted to be releasably connected to the connector portion at the distal end of the elongated body; wherein the dental instrument further comprises a heat flow barrier between the elongated body and the wand portion.
