Methods and apparatus to convert router configuration data

Methods and apparatus to convert configuration data associated with a first router are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a selector tool to identify a first port of a first router having a first set of data lines, and identify, via the selector tool, a second port of a second router to receive the first set of data lines to be migrated from the first port of the first router. The first router and the second router use different, incompatible configuration data formats. A data transceiver is to capture first port configuration data associated with the first port of the first router. A configuration data converter is to identify a type of interface associated with the captured first port configuration data and convert the captured first port configuration data from a first format compatible with the first router to a second format compatible with the second router based on the identified type of interface. A conversion file generator is to generate a configuration file containing the converted first port configuration data in the second format.

Propagation of routing information in RSVP-TE for inter-domain TE-LSPS

In one embodiment, a traffic engineering (TE) label switched path (LSP) is established between a head-end node in a local domain and a tail-end node in a remote domain. The TE-LSP spans one or more intervening domains located between the local domain and the remote domain. The head-end node sends a routing information request over the TE-LSP to a target node on the TE-LSP that is in the remote domain. The head end node receives routing information from the target node. The received routing information includes a list of address prefixes reachable by the target node. The head end node uses the received routing information to calculate routes reachable via the TE-LSP to the target node. The calculated routes have a next-hop interface set to be the TE-LSP. The calculated routes are inserted into a routing table of the head-end node.

Advertising messages in networks

Switches within a telecommunications network exchange so-called available bandwidth messages, each of which advertises how much bandwidth remains unassigned on a respective link. The network is of a type in which circuits are provisioned with various predefined numbers of time slots (equivalent to bandwidth). The sending of an available bandwidth message for a given link is triggered by a change in the number of time slots available on that link if that change results in a change in the number of circuit bandwidths that can be accommodated by that link for a newly provisioned circuit.

PERSONAL MONITORING SYSTEM USING A REMOTE TIMER

Method and apparatus for monitoring the status and location of personnel using a remote timer. In some embodiments, a method includes execution of a subject application (app) on a network accessible device. A countdown timer of a remote server is initiated to monitor a time interval, the remote server communicating with the network accessible device over a network. Geo positions of the network accessible device are monitored during the monitored time interval. The remote server sends a notification to a monitoring device responsive to at least one of the following events: the monitored time interval ends without the remote server receiving an authorized personal identification (PID) value; or the remote server receives an unauthorized PID value prior to the conclusion of the monitored time interval. In further embodiments, a notification is sent based on an out-of-bounds geo position of the network accessible device during the time interval.

Multiple Geography Service Routing

Methods and systems for routing a user request for a service to a version of the service in a geographical region associated with the user are described herein. The service may be deployed in multiple geographical regions, and the service may have multiple versions in each of the geographical regions. A user device may send a request for a service to a first server in a geographical region. The first server may determine whether the user is associated with the geographical region. Responsive to determining that the user is not associated with the geographical region, the first server may ask one or more servers in other geographical regions whether the user is associated with any of the other geographical regions.

Digital wireless distributed communications system (WDCS) employing a centralized spectrum chunk construction of communications channels for distribution to remote units to reduce transmission data rates

Digital wireless distributed communications systems (WDCS) employing a centralized spectrum chunk construction of communications channels for distribution to remote units are disclosed. Individual, discrete communications channels received from one or more signal sources are centrally constructed into spectrum chunks before being distributed to remote units. When the communications channels are constructed into spectrum chunks, the individual communications channels are positioned in their respective defined center radio frequency (RF) frequencies of their respective communications band before being distributed to the remote units. Thus, the remote units do not have to include the additional cost and associated power consumption of processing circuitry to construct the communications bands for individual communications channels. The remote units can up-convert the received spectrum chunks, which have already been centrally band constructed, to their respective frequencies according to their communication band(s).

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF GENERATING LOOKUPS AND MAKING DECISIONS FOR PACKET MODIFYING AND FORWARDING IN A SOFTWARE-DEFINED NETWORK ENGINE

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a Lookup and Decision Engine (LDE) for generating lookup keys for input tokens and modifying the input tokens based on contents of lookup results. The input tokens are parsed from network packet headers by a Parser, and the tokens are then modified by the LDE. The modified tokens guide how corresponding network packets will be modified or forwarded by other components in a software-defined networking (SDN) system. The design of the LDE is highly flexible and protocol independent. Conditions and rules for generating lookup keys and for modifying tokens are fully programmable such that the LDE can perform a wide variety of reconfigurable network features and protocols in the SDN system.
