Collaborative communications

In a first device incorporating a processor and a memory in communication with the processor, the memory includes executable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to control the first device to perform functions of receiving a bit error pattern of data traffic transmission from the first device to a second device, the bit error pattern including a number and locations of bit errors which occurred during the data traffic transmission; and adapting at least one transmission parameter of the first device based on the received bit error pattern. The error pattern allows more refined data traffic decisions.

Next generation node-B (GNB) for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) relay in new radio (NR) networks

Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The gNB may be configured with a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU may determine a route for delivery of a data packet to a User Equipment (UE) on an integrated access backhaul (IAB) of relays. The gNB may generate a physical layer (PHY) data packet in accordance with a split between functionality of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer at the gNB-CU and functionality of a radio link control (RLC) layer at the gNB-DU. The PHY data packet may include the data packet, a PDCP header, an adaptation layer header, an RLC header, a medium access control (MAC) header, and a PHY header. The adaptation layer header may indicate one or more relays included in the route.

System and method for traffic steering and analysis

A system for steering network traffic to service functions in a service function chain, the system including: a processor; a data storage module; an input interface; an output interface; a classifier configured to determine a path for a data packet in the service function chain; and a forwarder configured to determine the next location to which the data packet will be sent based on the path. A method for steering network traffic to service functions in a service function chain, the method including: classifying a data packet to determine a path for a data packet in the service function chain; and forwarding the data packet to a next location to which the data packet will be sent based on the path.

OPTIMIZATION OF PACKET TRANSMISSION PATHS
20200287818 · 2020-09-10 ·

A method is disclosed for optimizing packet transmission paths in a mobile communication network (400) in which packets are transmitted and received between mobile stations (10-14) or between a mobile station and a fixed network (120) by way of a plurality of packet transmission device (60-64, 70-72, 80, and 81) and radio base stations (50-57). When a mobile station uses a service that is provided by a fixed network (300), imposed are applied on the packet transmission path such that packets pass by way of specific packet transmission devices (80 and 81) depending on the fixed network (external network) 300. When the mobile station uses a service that is provided by the mobile communication network (400), on the other hand, no restrictions are imposed on the packet transmission path, and the packet transmission path is thus set such that the link costs are a minimum.

Stateless Protocol Translation
20200287827 · 2020-09-10 ·

Some aspects of the methods and systems presented relate to performing stateless address translation between IPv4 capable devices to IPv6 capable networks and devices. Stateless address translation may form a new IPv6 addresses by combining the IPv4 address of a device with an IPv6 prefix address assigned to the translator. The translation may also combine the IPv4 destination address and UDP port information with the new IPv6 address. Existing Domain Name Systems (DNSs) may be leveraged for resolving the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses across different networks.

Routing network traffic based on destination

A method may include identifying an address within a packet of a traffic flow associated with a network device. The method may also include comparing the address within the packet with a stored address, the stored address associated with a route for an alternative traffic path, where the alternative traffic path may be different from a default route of traffic passing through the network device. The method may additionally include, based on the address within the packet matching the stored address, routing the packet along the alternative traffic path instead of the default route of traffic.

Methods, Systems, and Computer Program Products for Enabling an Operative Coupling to a Network
20200280482 · 2020-09-03 ·

Methods and systems are described for enabling an operative coupling to a network. In use, first data is received at a first node in a first network. The first data is forwarded between the first node to a second node in a second network, using a network relay. Additionally it is determined that a specified decoupling condition is met, and subsequent to forwarding the first data and in response to determining that the decoupling condition is met, the second operative coupling is disabled while the first operative coupling remains enabled for receiving second data for forwarding.

AUTOMATIC CORRELATION OF DYNAMIC SYSTEM EVENTS WITHIN COMPUTING DEVICES

Systems and methods are described herein for logging system events within an electronic machine using an event log structured as a collection of tree-like cause and effect graphs. An event to be logged may be received. A new event node may be created within the event log for the received event. One or more existing event nodes within the event log may be identified as having possibly caused the received event. One or more causal links may be created within the event log between the new event node and the one or more identified existing event nodes. The new event node may be stored as an unattached root node in response to not identifying an existing event node that may have caused the received event.
