DETECTION OF UNDESIRED COMPUTER FILES USING DIGITAL CERTIFICATES
Methods and systems for detecting undesirable computer files based on scanning and analysis of information contained within an associated digital certificate chain are provided. According to one embodiment, a file having associated therewith a certificate chain is received. A type and structure of the file are identified. A location of the certificate chain is determined based on the identified type and structure. A signature of the file is formed by extracting a targeted subset of information from the certificate chain. The file is evaluated by comparing the signature with a set signatures having a known desirable or undesirable status. The file is classified based on a result of the evaluating into a category of multiple categories, including one indicative of an associated file being an undesired file or a file suspected of being undesired. The file is handled in accordance with a policy associated with the category.
AUTOMATICALLY PROVIDING A COMMUNICATION BASED ON LOCATION INFORMATION FOR A USER OF A SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM
Systems and methods for automatically locating web-based social network members are provided. According to one embodiment, contact content including an associated GPS identifier and status for web-based social network members located at or near the same location automatically appears on a GPS-enabled device. A further exemplary system includes a GPS-enabled device configured to receive a GPS identifier and a status representing a location and a current state for a web-based social network member, a processing module that associates the received GPS-identifier and the received status, and a communications module that sends the associated GPS-identifier and status to a server comprising a web-based social network database. Contact content in a web-based social network database record in the web-based social network database is updated to include the associated GPS identifier and status for the web-based social network member.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING A CONTENT ITEM, RESIDENT OR ACCESSIBLE ON ONE RESOURCE, AVAILABLE THROUGH ANOTHER
Systems and methods are provided to make content items, already available on one resource, also available through another, such as through a new location or resource. The content items may be, e.g., videos uploaded by a user or other content. The systems and methods employ a streamlined interface for convenience to the user. In one example, a user of a computer system views a video segment through a first website and re-posts the video segment to a second website by entering a single command or clicking a single button. The websites coordinate the re-posting using credentials previously or contemporaneously entered by the user. Moreover, a content item may be automatically prepared for re-posting on the target website using previously-entered user selections. Playback software from a source website may be posted to a target website to allow access of the content item at the source website.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC VENDOR AND VENDOR OUTLET CLASSIFICATION
Certain embodiments of the present invention provide methods and systems for dynamic classification of electronic vendors. Certain embodiments provide a method for dynamic vendor classification. The method includes analyzing a vendor based on a comparison of vendor features; categorizing the vendor based on the analysis; and permitting access to the vendor according to the categorization of the vendor. The categorization may include trusted, not trusted, or unsure, for example. Analysis may include comparing a first outlet of the vendor with a second outlet of the vendor, for example. Analysis may include comparing an outlet of the vendor with an outlet of a second vendor, for example. A vendor may be defined as a particular outlet for a vendor and/or all outlets associated with a vendor (a vendor entity).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCREENING COMMUNICATIONS BASED ON RECEIVER PROGRAMMABLE PINS
A method for connecting a communication session may include storing first user communication acceptance criteria that is associated with a first user. A method may further include receiving a request from a second user to initiate a communication session with the first user and determining whether the first user permits such communication sessions with the second user based on the first user communication acceptance criteria. A method may include initiating the communication session between the first user and the second user upon determining that the first user permits the communication session to be initiated based on the first user communication acceptance criteria.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROGRAMMING MOBILE DEVICES
Embodiments of a system and method are described for generating and distributing programming to mobile devices over a network. Devices are provided with Players specific to each device and Applications that are device independent. Embodiments include a full-featured WYSIWYG authoring environment, including the ability to bind web components to objects.
Splitting an SSL Connection Between Gateways
A system for secure communication, including a first security computer communicatively coupled with a client computer via an SSL connection, including a certificate creator, for receiving certificate attributes of a server computer certificate and for creating a signed certificate therefrom, and an SSL connector, for performing an SSL handshake with the client computer using the signed certificate created by said certificate creator, and a second security computer communicatively coupled with a server computer via an SSL connection, and communicatively coupled with the first security computer via a non-SSL connection, including an SSL connector, for performing an SSL handshake with the server computer using a signed certificate provided by the server computer, and a protocol appender, for appending attributes of the signed certificate provided by the server computer within a message communicated to the first security computer. A method is also described and claimed.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, COMMUNICATION METHOD, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to an external device. The external device receives a selection of image data through plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data sent with the address by the external device, and prints an image based on the selected image data. The image forming apparatus accepts a selection indicating whether a communication between the external device and the image forming apparatus is performed by a first communication system method or a second communication system method. The image forming apparatus performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the first communication system method when the first communication system method is selected, and performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the second communication system method when the second communication system method is selected.
ENTERPRISE CLIENT-SERVER SYSTEM AND METHODS OF PROVIDING WEB APPLICATION SUPPORT THROUGH DISTRIBUTED EMULATION OF WEBSOCKET COMMUNICATIONS
A request to establish a bi-directional full-duplex network connection is received. The request conforms to a half-duplex network connection protocol and the half-duplex connection protocol is a HTTP based protocol. The request is processed to determine a decision on whether to allow the bi-directional full-duplex connection. In the event the decision is to allow the bi-directional full-duplex connection, the bi-directional full-duplex network connection is established using the half-duplex network connection protocol. The bi-directional full-duplex connection utilizes a WebSocket communication protocol. Establishing the bi-directional full-duplex connection utilizes a plurality of half duplex connections. A confirmation that the bi-directional full-duplex network connection has been established is provided.
BROADCAST NOTIFICATIONS USING SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEMS
A method and notification system for notifying broadcast streams to multiple users. A notifier receives, from a broadcaster, a request to notify a broadcast stream to the multiple users. The notifier receives preferences from a subset of users of two or more social networking systems. The preferences identify: (i) some but not all social networking systems of the two or more social networking systems which should send notifications about the broadcast stream to the subset of users; and (ii) times during which the notifications about the broadcast stream should be sent to the subset of users. The notifier instructs an agent representing a broadcaster in each social networking system of only the some social networking systems to send notifications about the broadcast stream to the subset of users at the times identified in the preferences.
