Composite molded article having two-layer structure
The present invention has an object of providing a molded article of a composite structure obtained by bonding a polar thermoplastic resin, especially polyacetal, with another resin in a simple manner. According to the present invention, a molded article of a composite structure obtained by bonding a polar thermoplastic resin and a resin containing an aliphatic ester structure as a main component to each other in the state where at least a face at which both of the materials contact each other is in a melted state can be provided.
Method of manufacturing an object
In a method of manufacturing an object, a filament is fed to an extrusion head. The filament has a semi-crystalline polymeric reinforcement portion and a polymeric matrix portion. The temperature of the filament is raised in the extrusion head above the melting point of the matrix portion but below the melting point of the reinforcement portion so that the matrix portion of the filament melts within the extrusion head, thereby forming a partially molten filament within the extrusion head. The reinforcement portion of the partially molten filament remains in a semi-crystalline state as it is extruded from the extrusion head. Relative movement is generated between the extrusion head and the substrate as the partially molten filament is extruded onto the substrate in order to form an extruded line on the substrate. The matrix portion of the extruded line solidifies after the extruded line has been formed on the substrate.
Apparatus for producing laminated fabric ply strips
A cross-head die assembly for use with an extruder is described. The cross-head die assembly includes: an inlet section having an inlet for communicating flow from the extruder to one or more flow channels formed in a support block; and an outlet, a removably mounted die located at the outlet and in fluid communication with the one or more flow channels; said support block further comprising an interior slot extending from a first side of the support block to an outlet passageway; a removable cassette positioned in the interior slot, wherein the front end of the removable cassette is positioned to seal the outlet passageway of the slot so that the slot is isolated from the flow.
PROFILE STRIP ARRANGEMENT
A profile strip arrangement includes a profile strip made of a profile material. The profile strip has a first connecting area configured to form a connection to an edge area of a windshield of a motor vehicle, and has a second connecting area configured to form a connection to a part that is adjacent to the windshield. The first connecting area has a lower connecting section which interacts with an inside of the edge area of the windshield and which has at least one free surface section that is free of the profile material. The at least one free surface section is formed by a surface of an additional element that is made of a material that differs from that of the profile strip.
A Method of Manufacturing a Distributed Acoustic Sensing Cable
A distributed acoustic sensing cable package having a polymer composite extruded over an optical waveguide to encase the waveguide and to form a crystalline matrix layer acoustically coupled to the waveguide. The crystalline matrix includes reinforcement fibers to further enhance transmission of a cable strain to the optical waveguide. During manufacture of the cable, the polymer composite may be extruded over the optical waveguide and subsequently subjected to heat treatment to increase the crystallinity of the polymer composite and increase the elastic modulus. Both axial and radial strain fields are effectively interact with cased fiber waveguide for producing measurable phase shift signal for distributed acoustic noise detection.
Non-conductive wire splice connector
A non-conductive wire splice apparatus having a connector configured to be coupled between a first wire and a second wire. The connector having a non-conductor coupled between a first sleeve and a second sleeve. The first sleeve being attachable to the first wire. The second sleeve being attachable to the second wire opposite the first sleeve. The non-conductor being configured to electrically insulate the first wire from the second wire. An electrical current in the first wire is insulated from being conducted to the second wire.
2-STAGE EXTRUSION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF EXTRUSION
A consolidation system configured to consolidate a bulk molding compound, the apparatus comprises a barrel, a low compression first stage within the barrel, a high compression second stage within the barrel coupled with the low compression first stage, a die breaker coupled to the high compression second stage, and an extrusion die coupled to the die breaker. The low compression first stage includes a low compression screw for mixing and compressing a bulk molding compound comprising a resin and fillers. The high compression second stage includes a high compression screw for compressing the bulk molding compound into a compressed material. The die breaker comprises at least one of a plurality of holes or a plurality of slots.
ROTATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS FABRICATION OF LONG BIOLOGICAL TUBES
Disclosed are bioprinters for rapidly fabricating biological tubes comprising extruding a bio-ink filament onto a rotating mandrel. Also disclosed are methods of rapidly fabricating biological tubes comprising extruding a bio-ink filament onto a rotating mandrel, maturing the deposited bio-ink filament, and removing the biological tube from the mandrel. Also disclosed are methods of fabricating a multilayered biological tube. Also disclosed are engineered biological tubes prepared using the disclosed methods.
Method and apparatus for coating a pipe
A method for coating a pipe involves applying a coating material of cellular structured extruded thermoplastic material to the pipe and enclosing it on the outside by an outer covering layer of compact plastic. In an extrusion head, the annular opening for supplying coating material can be adjusted to a desired temperature by a region having coolant channels separated from the annular opening by an annular heat exchange surface. Before being applied to the pipe, the flowable coating material is guided along the heat exchange surface and cooled to a temperature just above the solidification temperature thereof. After the coating material leaves the annular opening, the coating material expands in a controlled manner, widening the outer covering layer depending on the adjusted temperature of the coating material, until the coating material begins to solidify. The outer covering layer surface condition can correspond to or be different from the pipe.
Long fiber extrusion apparatus and method
A long fiber extrusion apparatus applies a polymer melt to a length of fiber using a die and an extruder where the length of fiber is directed to the die through a glass tube. The transparency of the glass tube enables viewing of the fiber as it is directed through the glass tube to monitor for any difficulties or problems encountered by the fiber passing through the glass tube. The glass interior surface of the glass tube reduces friction between the fiber and the glass surface and thereby reduces abrasion of the fiber and dust produced from abrasion of the fiber inside the glass tube.
