METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR RENDERING HAPTIC EFFECTS
20180013640 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatus or systems for managing a map of haptic atmospheres over a topographical zone. The zone may contain relief or noticeable objects. A set of devices equipped with haptic sensors and haptic actuators is wore by a set of users spread over the topographical zone. Each device is contributing to the management of the map by sending its localized haptic measurements to a server. The server calculates and maintain the map according to these spread measurements. Client devices also send request to get a haptic effect representative of the haptic atmosphere around a second location in the topographical zone. The server calculates the response according to this second location and to the characteristics of the client.

SDN-Based DDOS Attack Prevention Method, Apparatus, and System
20180013787 · 2018-01-11 ·

A software defined networking (SDN)-based distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack prevention method, an apparatus, and a system, where a controller delivers a traffic statistics collection instruction to a first packet forwarding device. The traffic statistics collection instruction instructs the first packet forwarding device to perform traffic statistics collection, and carries a destination Internet Protocol (IP) address. The controller collects statistical data reported by the first packet forwarding device, obtains, according to the statistical data, a statistical value of global traffic flowing to the destination IP address, and delivers a DDoS prevention policy to a second packet forwarding device based on a determining result that the statistical value of the global traffic exceeds the preset threshold. Correspondingly, the second packet forwarding device receives the DDoS prevention policy from the controller, and performs, according to the DDoS prevention policy, prevention process on the traffic flowing to the destination IP address.

KIND OF TRANSMISSION METHOD BASED ON THE NETWORK LEARNABLE POWER MODEL

A kind of transmission method based on the learnable power model, which conducts periodic record for the historical change trend of the network. This method conducts weighting smooth processing on the round trip time and judges the changing trend of congestion control window. Then, it establishes model for the relationship between network power and the congestion control widow. When a new ACK is received, it immediately updates the window of power model. Finally, it forecasts the size of the congestion control window of the next time period by combining the congestion window and the network power changing trend. For the network packet loss or time-out events, the retransmission mechanism of traditional TCP is used, and when the packet loss ends, the power model process is used again. This invention reduces the influence of the network random events of the estimation error of traditional algorithm.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADVANCED STATISTICS COLLECTION
20180013675 · 2018-01-11 ·

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media provide for collection of statistics relating to network traffic between virtual machines (VMs) in a network. In an example embodiment, a virtual switch hosted on a physical server provides network address information of VMs deployed on the physical server to a virtual switch controller. The controller collects this network address information from each virtual switch under its control, and distributes the aggregate address information to each switch. In this manner, the controller and each switch within the controller's domain can learn the network address information of each VM deployed on physical servers hosting switches under the controller's control. Each virtual switch can determine a classification of a frame passing through the switch (e.g., intra-server, inter-server and intra-domain, or inter-domain traffic), and statistics relating to the traffic. In an example embodiment, the virtual switch controller can collect the statistics from each switch within its domain.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINATION OF COMMUNICATION PARAMETERS BY NODES OF A VEHICULAR NETWORK
20180013655 · 2018-01-11 ·

Systems and methods that use adaptive control of communication protocol parameters in a network of moving things. Each network device may share information identifying communication protocol parameters used by the network device through periodic broadcasts, which may be received by neighboring network devices that are within communication range. The neighboring network devices may then adjust their own communication protocol parameters accordingly when attempting to communicate with the first network device and their own neighboring network devices. Network devices that have not received the shared information may use information about their geographic location and the geographic location of neighboring network devices to estimate values of some communication protocol parameters that will provide more effective communication.

SELECTION OF A SUBSCRIPTION AT A DEVICE
20180013897 · 2018-01-11 ·

A communication device may be configured to access a plurality of subscriptions for a plurality of providers. For example, a communication device may be configured with at least one subscriber identity module (SIM). For a communication device having a plurality of subscriptions accessible thereto, the selection of a subscription to connect to a destination network may be configurable. The selection of a subscription from a plurality of available subscriptions may be based on a cost (e.g., financial cost, data cost, or another resource) associated with connecting to a destination network using different subscriptions. For example, a first subscription may be selected if connection to the destination network is more expensive using a second subscription and/or if the balance on the second subscription is too low.

DETERMINISTIC CALIBRATED SYNCHRONIZED NETWORK INTERLINK ACCESS

Technologies for calibrated network interlink access. In some embodiments, a system can calculate a first communication latency of a first link between a first processing element in a first switch and a second processing element in a second switch, and a second communication latency associated with a second link between the first processing element and a third processing element in a third switch. The system can determine a delta between the first communication latency and the second communication latency, and whether respective clock rates of the first switch, second switch, and third switch have a clock rate variation, to yield a clock rate variation determination. Based on the delta and clock rate variation determination, the system can determine an offset value for synchronizing the first communication latency and second communication latency. Based on the offset value, the system can calibrate traffic over the first link and/or the second link.
