PERIPHERAL CAMERA AND INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM SECURITY SYSTEM AND METHOD

An information handling system peripheral camera ensures privacy with a cover that minimizes distance of a camera module to a front opening of the camera housing. For instance, opposing cover members rotate about geared ends that engage to translate rotation between the members, where the members meet over a camera opening to block capture of visual images and move to opposing sides to expose the camera module. In an alternative embodiment, a rotating shutter arrangement selectively covers the camera for security and also covers a microphone to provide security against unauthorized audible access through the camera. Selective covering and exposing of a camera module, infrared camera, microphone and user presence detection sensor support adaptive security at a camera based upon end user context.

USER CHARACTERISTIC-BASED DISPLAY PRESENTATION

In an example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic device is described. The electronic device includes a camera to capture an image of a user facing the electronic device. An image analyzer of the electronic device determines a characteristic of the user from the image of the user. The electronic device also includes a presentation controller. The presentation controller 1) selects a presentation characteristic based on a determined characteristic of the user and 2) alters a display of the electronic device based on a selected presentation characteristic.

A stroller camera assembly includes a camera unit for recording video footage. The camera unit includes a pair of open rings that is each coupled to the camera unit. Each of the open rings can engage a structural member of a baby carriage thereby facilitating the camera unit to record footage from in front of the baby carriage. A personal electronic device is in wireless communication with the camera unit to display video footage captured by the camera unit. The personal electronic device includes an open ring that is coupled to the personal electronic device to engage a handle of the baby carriage. In this way the personal electronic device is visible to a caregiver that is pushing the baby carriage to view the video footage captured by the camera unit.

VISUAL RECOGNITION BASED METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROJECTING PATTERNED LIGHT, METHOD AND SYSTEM APPLIED TO ORAL INSPECTION, AND MACHINING SYSTEM

A visual recognition based method for projecting patterned light includes: projecting a calibration image onto a projection screen by a projection module; capturing the calibration image by an image-capturing module to obtain a calibration information between the projection module and the image-capturing module; capturing an object by the image-capturing module to obtain a to-be-recognized image of the object; detecting the object in the to-be-recognized image and acquiring a plurality of feature points associated with a plurality of feature areas of the object in the to-be-recognized image; retrieving a plurality of target feature points corresponding to a target object from the feature points; obtaining a projection coordinate of the target feature points\according to the calibration information and providing the projection coordinate to the projection module; and projecting a projection pattern with shape corresponding to the target object onto the object by the projection module according to the projection coordinate.

Vehicle Mounted Articulating Camera

A method to perform a well maintenance operation is disclosed. The method includes obtaining, using a downhole camera, a downhole image comprising a pixel-based dimension of an object inside the wellbore, generating, using a laser distance pointer, a distance measurement of the object with respect to the downhole camera, determining, based on the distance measurement, a physical dimension of the object from the pixel-based dimension of the object, and performing the well maintenance operation based at least on the physical dimension of the object.

PRISM COUPLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS EMPLOYING LIGHT-BLOCKING MEMBERS

A prism coupling system configured to determine at least one stress characteristic in a chemically strengthened substrate having a surface and a near-surface waveguide has a a light source system that generates measurement light. A coupling prism provides optical coupling of the measurement light into and out of the near-surface waveguide over an optical path that comprises a low-angle region and a high-angle region. A detector system arranged to receive the measurement light from the coupling prism to detect a mode spectrum image. A light-blocking member is operably disposed to at least partially extend into the low-angle region without extending into the high-angle region to increase or optimize the contrast of the mode spectrum image.

Imaging apparatus and distance measuring apparatus using the same

An imaging apparatus in an embodiment includes lens optical systems each including a lens whose surface closest to the target object is shaped to be convex toward the target object, imaging regions which respectively face the lens optical systems and output a photoelectrically converted signal corresponding to an amount of light transmitting the lens optical systems and received by the imaging regions, and a light-transmissive cover which covers an exposed portion of the lens of each of the lens optical systems and a portion between the lens of one of the lens optical systems and the lens of another one of the lens optical systems adjacent to the one of the lens optical systems, the cover having a curved portion which is convex toward the target object.
