SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR CONTENT STREAMING WITH A CONTENT BUFFER
The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, electronic devices and applications for content streaming with an intermediate content buffer. In one embodiment, a method includes detecting, by a content buffer, a request for network content from a player, wherein the request is a network communication detected by the content buffer and the request for network content is directed to a server and identifying, by the content buffer, associated network content, wherein the associated network content is associated with the network content requested by the player. The method may also include pre-downloading associated network content for the player based on the identifying, wherein the content buffer requests associated network content from the server, and providing the associated network content to the player. Another embodiment is directed to a device configured to run a content buffer and provide content for a content player.
Systems and methods for native network interface controller (NIC) teaming load balancing
Systems and methods are provided that may be employed in a network environment to implement load balancing for multi-network interface controller (NIC) teaming applications using pause frame flow control communications received at an information handling system in situations where a given data path through a given NIC of the information handling system and a corresponding network switch is heavily loaded or otherwise congested relative to one or more other more lightly loaded data paths through other NICs of the information handling system and their corresponding network switches.
Utilizing multiple algorithms in a distributed-service environment
Techniques for producing a gentle reduction in throughput in a distributed service when a node of the service encounters a very large backlog of requests and/or when a previously offline node of the service is brought back online. These techniques may utilize multiple different algorithms to determine an amount of work that the distributed service is able to accept at any given time, rather than a single algorithm.
LIGHTING CONTROL AND STATUS QUERIES
A controller comprising: a first holding location for storing or buffering two or more lighting control frames of a lighting control protocol, for transmission one-after-another in a temporal sequence over a lighting network in order to control at least one lighting device of the lighting network; and a second holding location for storing or buffering at least one status query of a device management protocol, for transmission over the lighting network in order to query a status of at least one lighting device of the lighting network. The controller further comprises an arbitrator configured to automatically detect when one of the lighting control frames is redundant with respect to another of the lighting control frames within a predetermined number of said frames in said sequence, and in response to automatically cause the status query to be transmitted in place of the redundant lighting control frame in said sequence.
FAST PACKET RETRIEVAL BASED ON FLOW ID AND METADATA
A storage system includes network monitoring device having NIC coupled to network and configured to capture raw data packets. The system further includes 4 data repositories. A first repository stores captured packets. A second repository stores captured packets' metadata. A third repository stores captured packets' and metadata's timestamp indexed data. A fourth repository stores captured packets' data flow. The storage system further includes a storage engine coupled to the repositories. The storage engine receives packet search criteria specifying at least a first time range. Data flow information associated with the search criteria is retrieved from the fourth repository. The retrieved data flow information is associated with a second, narrower, time range. Metadata information associated with the second time range is retrieved from the second repository using corresponding timestamp indexed data. Captured packets associated with the retrieved metadata are retrieved from the first repository using corresponding timestamp indexed data.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING WORKLOAD OF NETWORK FUNCTION
A workload estimation method estimates a workload of a network function that processes a received flow based on a rule searched for from among a plurality of rules. The method that is executed by a processor includes: obtaining information that indicates maximum throughputs of the network function respectively for the rules; measuring traffic volumes of flows that respectively match the rules; calculating ratios of the measured traffic volumes to the maximum throughputs respectively for the rules; and estimating a workload of the network function based on a sum of the ratios calculated respectively for the rules.
Method, network device, computer program and computer program product for communication queue state
Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for communicating queue information. The method includes determining a queue state for each one of a plurality of queues at least partially based on respective queue length, selecting a queue with a greatest difference between the queue state of the queue and a last reported queue state of the queue, and reporting the queue state of the selected queue to at least one node.
Data communications network for an aircraft
A method for servicing multiple data queues in communication with a data communications network. The multiple data queues may receive data of differing priority and/or the data queues may be arranged for data with a predetermined priority. The data in the data queues may be serviced by the same processor. A schedule may be applied to the data in the data queues to control the servicing the data in the data queues.
RADIO BASE STATION, PACKET TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, WIRELESS TERMINAL, CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM
Provided is a radio base station, etc. that realize transmission control in view of QoE. According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a radio base station that receives a packet(s) transmitted from a packet transmission apparatus via a network and transmits the received packet(s) to a wireless terminal(s), the radio base station including: acquisition means that acquires a packet type(s) or a packet identifier(s) set in the packet(s) by the packet transmission apparatus; and control means that performs transmission control to change a transmission order of the packet(s) based on the packet type(s) or the packet identifier(s).
COMMUNICATION CONTROL DEVICE, COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, AND COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
A communication control device including: a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and the processor configured to: transmit packets from the communication control device to a network device at each of a plurality of transmission rates, acquire a plurality of index values respectively indicating amounts of packet loss at the plurality of transmission rates, specify, among the plurality of transmission rates, a first transmission rate on which a corresponding index value among the plurality of index values has a dependence, and specify an upper limit of a vacant band between the communication control device and the network device based on the first transmission rate.
