Battery unit having at least one first battery module and at least one second battery module in a battery housing
A battery unit (1) for a motor vehicle has at least one first battery module (10) and at least one second battery module (12) in a battery housing (14). The first battery module (10) has at least one first electrical connection (16), and the second battery module (12) has at least one second electrical connection (18). The battery housing (14) has an opening (20) and an electrically conductive element (22) can be inserted through the opening (20) for electrically conductively connecting the first electrical connection (16) to the second electrical connection (18).
Battery module
A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells, a temperature sensor and a case. The plurality of battery cells are aligned in one direction. The temperature sensor has a first surface contacting at least one battery cell of the plurality of battery cells to measure a temperature of the at least one battery cell. The case presses against a second surface of the temperature sensor opposite to the first surface of the temperature sensor. In the battery module, the contact between the first surface of the temperature sensor and the battery cell is maintained by the case. Accordingly, the temperature sensor can precisely measure the temperature of the battery cell, thereby improving the safety of the battery module.
Wiring module
A wiring module includes a busbar for connecting between electrode terminals, an external connection busbar to be connected to an external terminal, a resin protector including a first holding portion for holding the busbar and a second holding portion for holding the external connection busbar and a main cover for covering the first holding portion. The main cover includes a first auxiliary cover for covering the second holding portion and a second auxiliary cover connected to the first auxiliary cover via a hinge portion. The first auxiliary cover is provided with an interfered portion for interfering with an interfering portion of the second holding portion as the main cover is mounted on the resin protector, and the first auxiliary cover is automatically rotated and arranged at a predetermined position by the interference of the interfered portion and the interfering portion.
Systems and methods for recharging vehicle-mounted energy storage devices
A vehicle battery exchange system includes a base, a gripper, a retrieval actuator that retractably and extensibly connects the gripper to the base, and a vehicle alignment feature sensing apparatus that is operatively connected at least with the retrieval actuator and is configured to cause extension of the retrieval actuator to a battery-engaging position of the gripper in response to registration of a vehicle alignment feature to the vehicle alignment feature sensing apparatus, and to cause retraction of the retrieval actuator to a battery-removing position of the gripper in response to latching engagement of the gripper with a battery that is mounted in a vehicle at a pre-defined location relative to the vehicle alignment feature that is in registration to the alignment feature sensing apparatus.
Electronic device and battery accommodating module
A battery accommodating module is used for accommodating a battery. The battery accommodating module includes a battery case and a latch member. The battery case has an accommodating space and a side of the battery case has two pivot holes and at least one first restraining portion. The latch member has two pivot portions and at least one second restraining portion, wherein the pivot portions are pivotally connected to the pivot holes, such that the latch member can rotate with respect to the battery case between a lock position and an unlock position. When the latch member is located at the unlock position, the first restraining portion keeps the second restraining portion at a first side of the first restraining portion. When the latch member is located at the lock position, the first restraining portion keeps the second restraining portion at a second side of the first restraining portion.
High current electrical joint that eliminates partial assembly
An electric joint formed between a high current source and a high current load, and a method of making electrical connection between them. In one form, the source is made up of one or more cells in a battery pack and the load is an electric motor. An electrical connection assembly includes a first conductor, a fastener and a second conductor joined together such that electrical continuity between the conductors is not established until the fastener imparts a substantially normal force to both of them in such a way that they become secured together to produce a deformable shape to adjacently-facing surfaces one or both conductors, thereby ensuring significant contact and a related low electrical resistance as a way to avoid imperfect or partial attachments at the joint.
Battery module
A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells arranged in one direction and electrically connected to one another, the plurality of battery cells each having a current collecting terminal on a top surface thereof, and a terminal plate positioned on the current collecting terminal of one of the battery cells. The terminal plate is in a form of a sideways-oriented U-shape, including a first surface that contacts the current collecting terminal, a second surface that is parallel to the first surface and spaced apart from the first surface by a predetermined distance, and a third surface connecting the first surface and the second surface, the first surface including a first hole and the second surface including a second hole, the first hole and the second hole having different shapes.
Adaptive battery pack-to-accessory device
A device includes a battery pack receptacle that removably connects to one of multiple adapters for an associated battery pack that is used for a cordless device. At least one accessory device is connected to the battery pack receptacle. Power from the associated battery pack is used as a power source for the at least one accessory device.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES INCLUDING ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM POWERED BY LITHIUM-ION BATTERY
An internal combustion engine includes an engine block including a cylinder, a piston positioned within the cylinder and configured to reciprocate within the cylinder, a crankshaft driven by the piston, a fuel system for supplying an air-fuel mixture to the cylinder, a starter motor configured to initiate rotation of the crankshaft to start the engine, a cover having a vent opening, a blower housing located between the cover and the engine block for directing cooling air toward the engine block, wherein the blower housing comprises a receptacle electrically coupled to the starter motor, a fan configured to draw the cooling air into the blower housing through the vent opening in the cover to cool the engine block, and a rechargeable battery pack removably attached to the receptacle, wherein the rechargeable battery pack is configured to power the starter motor to start the engine.
