Method and apparatus for CSI reporting
For CSI reporting mechanisms, a user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver and a processor operably connected to the transceiver. The transceiver is configured to receive channel state information (CSI) process configuration information including at least one beamformed type associated with a plurality of non-zero-power (NZP) CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resource configurations and receive a CSI-RS resource index (CRI) reporting configuration. The processor is configured to calculate, in response to receipt of the configuration information, a CRI and a channel quality indicator (CQI). The transceiver is further configured to report the CRI and the CQI by transmitting the CRI and the CQI on an uplink channel.
Data transmission rate control method and device
A data transmission rate control terminal device receives beam indication information and scheduling information from a base station. The terminal device determines at least one beam based on a set of N candidate beam pair links (BPLs). The terminal device determines second modulation and coding indication information according to first modulation and coding indication information, and the terminal device transmits data on the at least one beam according to resource indication information and the second modulation and coding indication information.
Method and apparatus for monitoring control candidates
A configuration that configures a set of SPDCCH candidates can be received. A first subset of the set of SPDCCH candidates associated with a first set of aggregation levels in a first TTI of a subframe can be monitored. A second subset of the set of SPDCCH candidates associated with a second set of aggregation levels in a second TTI of the subframe can be monitored. The first subset of the set of SPDCCH candidates and the second subset of the SPDCCH candidates can be different at least in one SPDCCH candidate. The first subset of the set of SPDCCH candidates can be based on a first index associated with the first TTI within the subframe. The second subset of the set of SPDCCH candidates can be based on a second index associated with the second TTI within the subframe.
Method and apparatus for interference demodulation reference signal detection with serving signal cancellation
A system and method for characterizing an interference demodulation reference signal (DMRS) in a piece of user equipment (UE), e.g., a mobile device. The UE determines whether the serving signal is transmitted in a DMRS-based transmission mode; if it is, the UE cancels the serving DMRS from the received signal; otherwise the UE cancels the serving data signal from the received signal. The remaining signal is then analyzed for the amount of power it has in each of four interference DMRS candidates, and hypothesis testing is performed to determine whether interference DMRS is present in the signal, and, if so, to determine the rank of the interference DMRS, and the port and scrambling identity of each of the interference DMRS layers.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MULTI-BAND RESOURCE CONTROL
In some implementations, a device may partition a coverage area associated with a network to form one or more geographic sectors, and may determine a pathloss value for each frequency band of multiple frequency bands and a spatial distribution between cells, within the geographic sector, for each frequency band. The device may determine a degree of contiguous coverage for each frequency band within the geographic sector based on the pathloss value and the spatial distribution between cells for that frequency band, and may determine, based on the degree of contiguous coverage for each frequency band, a specific frequency band, of the multiple frequency bands, to be used as a primary carrier for carrier aggregation in the geographic sector. The device may output information that identifies a carrier aggregation profile that indicates the specific frequency band to be used as the primary carrier for carrier aggregation in the geographic sector.
Intelligent wireless channel selection
A client device may obtain a first measurement corresponding to a serving WLAN access point that uses a first channel. The client device may also obtain a second measurement corresponding to a target WLAN access point that uses a second channel. To facilitate intelligent wireless channel selection, the client device may weight at least one of the first measurement and the second measurement based on channel selection settings to obtain at least one weighted measurement. The client device may determine whether to roam from the serving WLAN access point to the target WLAN access point based on the at least one weighted measurement.
Channel selection in a shared spectrum communication network
A method for selecting at least one channel for a network element in a shared spectrum communication system is provided. The method includes identifying a plurality of candidate channels of a frequency band of the shared spectrum communication system. For each channel of the plurality of channels, the method further includes: evaluating the channel based on one or more of a plurality of criteria for the network element; scoring the channel based on the evaluation of the channel for the network element; and ranking the plurality of candidate channels based on the assigned scores for each of the plurality of channels. The method further includes selecting at least one channel based on the ranking of the plurality of candidate channels.
Access point update
Systems and methods are provided for seamless and automatic upgrade of access points in a facility with minimal disruption, particularly, for important users of a network. The access points may be ranked, and the rankings may be aggregated to identify a sub-region of the facility with the lowest ranked access points. Various sub-sets of the access points in the identified sub-region can be updated separately so that spatial coverage by the other sub-sets maintains continuous access within the sub-region during the updates. Updates to later sub-sets and/or sub-regions can be performed contingent on the success of the earlier updates. In this way, updates can be verified on access points used by lower-priority users such as guest users of the network to avoid disruption of access to more important users such as executives or safety workers on the network.
Communication Processor Handling Communications Protocols on Separate Threads
A multi-thread communication system has several communications processors operative over a single interface for transmitting and receiving packets. The multi-thread communications processor is operative to sequentially handle multiple thread processes for each communications processor on a cycle by cycle basis according to a thread map register which determines the order of execution and how many cycles of a particular thread occur during a canonical interval.
Donor selection for relay nodes comprising directional antennae
Systems, methods, and processing nodes for selecting a donor access node for a relay node comprising a plurality of directional antennae include instructing the relay node to attach to a first preferred donor access node using a first antenna of the plurality of directional antennae. While maintaining the connection with the first preferred donor access node using the first antenna, the relay node can scan for potential donor access nodes using one or more remaining antennae of the plurality of directional antennae and, upon identifying a second preferred donor access node from the potential donor access nodes, to perform a handover from the first preferred donor access node to the second preferred donor access node.
