Distributed application framework for prioritizing network traffic using application priority awareness

A system and a method for prioritizing network traffic using application awareness and network awareness in a network environment is disclosed. An exemplary method can include receiving a network traffic priority for network traffic associated with a job performed by a distributed application; and based on the network traffic priority, assigning the network traffic to a network classification model, such as an access control list, associated with a network element for directing the network traffic in a network. The network classification model is associated with a network traffic priority class having defined quality of service (QoS) features, such that the network traffic traverses the network according to the defined QoS features.

Method and system for providing tiered access to communication network resources

Methods and systems automatically allocate cellular communication network resources to emergency response personnel during emergency situations which are detected by call volumes exceeding a predetermined maximum. Access to cellular communication network resources is provided by dedicating a portion of communication radio resources to emergency response personnel use. By reserving radio resources for emergency communication purposes, emergency personnel are able to both initiate and receive calls or data sessions from both other mobile devices as well as conventional landline telephone stations. Qualified emergency response personnel can preregistered their phones and be assigned personal identification numbers to enable access to allocated network resources. Users can also be registered “on the fly.”

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONFIGURING RADIO BEARER TYPES FOR UNLICENSED CARRIERS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20170332393 · 2017-11-16 · ·

A method and apparatus for configuring radio bearers in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a configuration from a evolved NodeB (eNB) controlling a first cell, configures a first type of radio bearers for the first cell only, and configures a second type of radio bearers for both the first cell and a second cell. The first cell is a cell using resources on a licensed carrier. The second cell is a cell using resources on an unlicensed carrier.

The embodiments of the present disclosure further provide a device for processing a service flow packet. By using the present disclosure, processing flexibility and processing efficiency of a service flow packet can be improved.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING LOW BANDWIDTH AND HIGH BANDWIDTH COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES USING DIFFERENT USER EQUIPMENT PROFILES
20170332274 · 2017-11-16 ·

A network platform manages the provisioning of a UE with a dominant identity profile and a recessive identity profile. The dominant profile is associated with a user's existing wireless data plan and the recessive profile corresponds to a data plan of a provider of device, or machine-to-machine, services to the UE. The UE uses the two profiles to transmit separate data contexts on separate respective bearers. When managing two separate bearers, the UE always uses the dominant profile first for managing a handoff to a stronger cell. The UE reports that the new cell that now serves the dominant context is the only cell that has enough strength to support the recessive context, even if other cells near the UE have signals strong enough. This necessarily causes the recessive context to always be handed off to the same cell to which the dominant context has already been handed off.

APPLICATION-BASED ELASTIC RESOURCE PROVISIONING IN DISAGGREGATED COMPUTING SYSTEMS

Various embodiments for elastic resource provisioning in a disaggregated cloud computing environment, by a processor device, are provided. Respective members of pools of hardware resources within the disaggregated cloud computing environment are provisioned to a tenant according to an application-level service level agreement (SLA). Upon detecting a potential violation of the application-level SLA, additional respective members of the pools of hardware resources are provisioned on a component level to the tenant to avoid a violation of the SLA by one of a scale-up process and a scale-out process.

SINGLE USER MULTI-TID TXOP WITH QOS PRIORITIZATION

Disclosed herein are method, system, and computer program product embodiments for utilizing multiple traffic identifiers (TIDs) in a single user (SU) transmission. Some embodiments may operate by forming a SU multiple TID data unit that includes first data associated with a first access category and a first TID and second data associated with a second access category and a second TID. Some embodiments may further operate by transmitting the SU multiple TID data unit during a transmission opportunity based on configuration parameters associated with the transmission opportunity.

Offload of data transfer statistics from a mobile access gateway

In general, techniques are described for offloading data transfer statistics from a mobile access gateway. The mobile access gateway comprises a forwarding unit. The forwarding unit comprises a packet forwarding engine (PFE). When the PFE receives a packet, the PFE updates a data transfer statistic based on a quantity of data in the packet. The data transfer statistic is initially stored in a memory of the PFE. The PFE is configured to push the data transfer statistic from the memory of the PFE to a memory of the forwarding unit.

INTERFACE FUNCTIONALITY FOR RAN-WLAN RADIO AGGREGATION
20170318493 · 2017-11-02 ·

There are provided measures for enabling/realizing interface functionality for RAN-WLAN radio aggregation, i.e. radio level integration/aggregation between a cellular radio access network and a wireless area network. Such measures exemplarily comprise user-plane data forwarding from a cellular radio access network over a wireless local area network to a terminal, both the cellular radio access network and the wireless local area network providing radio level connectivity for the terminal, wherein in the user-plane data forwarding user-plane data packets according to a cellular data convergence protocol are transported, at least partly, using a reliable transport protocol over the wireless local area network to the terminal, providing feedback on performance of user-plane data packets transport using the reliable transport protocol, at least partly, from the wireless local area network to the cellular radio access network, and executing flow control on the basis of the performance feedback.
