Fabric system
A composite yarn comprising one or more ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers wrapped around one or more polyurethane-polyurea copolymer fibers.
FILAMENTARY CORE FOR AN ELASTIC YARN, ELASTIC COMPOSITE YARN, TEXTILE FABRIC AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAID ELASTIC YARN
A filamentary core (3) for an elastic composite yarn (1), particularly for an elastic textile composite yarn, comprising at least two elastic performance filaments (11, 13), each of the at least two elastic performance filaments capable of being stretched at least about 2 times its package length and having at least 90% up to 100% elastic recovery after having being released from a stretching 2 times its package length.
Unitary woven fabric construct of multiple zones
A fabric construct consists of a woven fabric of weft and warp yarns, and the fabric has an area defined by plurality of zones consisting of at least one zone of a first zone type, optionally, at least one zone of a second zone type; and at least one zone of a third zone type. The third zone is a transition zone disposed adjacent the first and/or second zones. All the zones are formed in a unitary woven construct, with adjacent zones seamlessly joined together. The transition zone includes a plurality of bands of sets of weft and/or warp yarns that collectively provide a progressive transition for an attribute of the first zone type through at least the transition zone and to the second zone type, if present. The fabric construct may be used in various end products and is particularly suited for use in apparel applications.
Fabric for toothed power transmission belt and belt
A fabric for reinforcing a power transmission belt including fibers of polyarylene sulfide and a belt utilizing the fabric. The fabric may have textured or elastic core wrapped stretch yarns in the longitudinal direction. Longitudinal yarns may include PPS and textured transverse yarns include nylon. Yarns may include blends of high performance fibers and nylon or other fibers.
TUBULAR WOVEN CONSTRUCT
A multi-layer tubular woven construct is useful as a hose that transports a fluid or a powder or protects linear bodies such as wires, cables and conduits, as a tubular filter, or as a base material of a vascular prosthesis. In particular, a tubular woven construct in a tubular configuration woven by interlacing warp and weft yarns contains at least in part an elastic fiber yarn having a filament fineness of 1.0 dtex or more, the weft yarn containing at least in part a microfiber yarn having a filament fineness of less than 1.0 dtex.
Stretch wovens with a control yarn system
An article including a woven fabric comprising warp yarns and weft yarns, wherein at least one of either the warp yarns or the weft yarns includes: (a) a corespun elastic base yarn having a denier and including staple fiber and an elastic fiber core; and (b) a separate control yarn selected from the group consisting of a single filament yarn, a multiple filament yarn, a composite yarn, and combinations thereof; having a denier greater than zero to about 0.8 times the denier of the corespun elastic base yarn; wherein the woven fabric includes (1) a ratio of corespun base yarn ends to control yarn ends of up to about 6:1; or (2) a ratio of corespun base yarn picks to control yarn picks of up to about 6:1; or (3) both a ratio of corespun base yarn ends to control yarn ends of up to about 6:1; and a ratio of corespun base yarn picks to control yarn picks of up to about 6:1.
WOVEN FABRIC THAT LOOKS AND PERFORMS LIKE A KNITTED FABRIC AND METHOD OF MAKING THEREOF
A fabric with wefts that include hard yarns and elastomeric yarns in a predetermined arrangement such that at least one hard yarn is alternately arranged with at least one elastomeric yarn, the elastomeric yarns having a greater shrinkage ratio than that of the hard yarns; the hard yarns form under portions and over portions with respect to warps, said under portions being formed when said hard yarns pass along the back side of the warps and defining loop portions, and said over portions being formed when the hard yarns pass along the front side of the warps and define connection portions, wherein for each hard yarn, the number of warps passed by the loop portion is at least 6, and the elastomeric yarns form under portions and over portions with respect to said warps in a weave that is tighter than the weave of the hard yarns.
Dyeable and flame-retarded thermoplastic polyurethane fibers
The invention relates to a thermoplastic polyurethane fibers, and process of making the same, where the described fiber has good dyeability, and in some embodiments, good flame retardant properties. Such fibers are made from a composition that includes (a) a thermoplastic polyurethane itself comprising the reaction product of: (i) one or more polyols, (ii) one or more diisocyanates, (iii) one or more chain extenders, (iv) optionally one or more crosslinking agents, and (v) one or more functional modifiers wherein each said functional modifier is a reaction product of an aminodiol and a Bronsted acid.
RIP-STOP FABRIC WITH MECHANICAL STRETCH FIBERS
Rip-stop pants include waist and leg portions formed of ripstop fabric having synthetic mechanical-stretch filament yarns interwoven into spun, staple yarns in a ripstop pattern.
Woven band with different stretch regions
A wearable band includes a woven material having two or more stretch regions. The different stretch regions can be formed by varying the tension on subsets of the warp threads, the weft threads, or both the warp and weft threads. A system for producing the woven material can include two or more tension control devices operably connected to a processing device. Each tension control device is configured to adjust the amount of tension in a respective subset of threads (e.g., warp threads) in the woven material during a weaving operation. The processing device is configured to select thread tension patterns for the subsets of threads used during the weaving operation. Each thread tension pattern includes tension settings for the subsets of threads, where at least one tension setting in one thread tension pattern differs from the tension settings in the other tension patterns.
