Anaphora resolution for semantic tagging

A semantic tagging method may add context to a sentence in order to increase search efficiency. Regardless of an author's writing style, translating semantic concepts into tags may increase search efficiency. Automatic semantic tagging of documents may allow semantic search and reasoning. Text for semantic tagging may include an email, a website chat room, an internet forum, or a text message. Additional texts may include aggregating general consensus of an emailed topic across multiple emails, whether in the same email chain or separate emails. To increase search efficiency, the analysis of prior communications within the body of text may comprise analyzing structured contextual information to facilitate with homophora resolution. The structured contextual information may include at least one of a sender email address, one or more recipient email addresses, a subject field, a message date and time stamp, and an attachment title.

System and method for encoding standard-formatted images with information

System and method for displaying an encoded standard-formatted image with information including, but not limited to, geospatial information. This information, possibly in mark-up language format, can be quickly accessed and used to modify the image to which it is appended, or it can be ignored because the image itself remains unchanged.

Automatic message presentation based on past messages

In one aspect, a device includes a processor and a memory accessible to the processor. The memory bears instructions executable by the processor to access past messages associated with the device, and determine that at least a first multi-term phrase appears in plural messages among the past messages. The instructions are also executable by the processor to, responsive to input invoking message composition and based at least in part on a determination that the multi-term phrase appears in plural messages among the past messages, present on the device at least plural terms from the multi-term phrase in an order in which the at least plural terms appear in the multi-term phrase as a candidate message.

Translating terms using numeric representations

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for translating terms using numeric representations. One of the methods includes obtaining data that associates each term in a vocabulary of terms in a first language with a respective high-dimensional representation of the term; obtaining data that associates each term in a vocabulary of terms in a second language with a respective high-dimensional representation of the term; receiving a first language term; and determining a translation into the second language of the first language term from the high-dimensional representation of the first language term and the high-dimensional representations of terms in the vocabulary of terms in the second language.

Enhancing a message by providing supplemental content in the message

The present technology relates to enhancing a message with supplemental content. The system may enhance a message based on topics identified in past correspondence messages or topics anticipated based on an intended recipient of a correspondence message being drafted. The system can operate in combination or conjunction with a language prediction system, an optimizing language model, and a text input method. The systems and methods provide users with supplemental content at a time and in a specific situation, which allows for effective targeting of content.

Adapted speech models produce fluent synthesized speech in a voice that sounds as if the speaker were fluent in a language in which the speaker is actually non-fluent. A full speech model is obtained based on fluent speech in the language spoken by a first person who is fluent in the language. A limited set of utterances is obtained in the language spoken by a second person who is non-fluent in the language but able to speak the limited set of utterances in the language. The full speech model of the first person is then processed with the limited set of utterances of the second person to produce an adapted speech model. The adapted speech model may be stored to a multi-lingual speech model as a child node of a root with an associated language selection question and branches pointed to the adapted speech model and other speech models, respectively.

Methods and systems for natural language understanding using human knowledge and collected data

Disclosed herein are systems and methods to incorporate human knowledge when developing and using statistical models for natural language understanding. The disclosed systems and methods embrace a data-driven approach to natural language understanding which progresses seamlessly along the continuum of availability of annotated collected data, from when there is no available annotated collected data to when there is any amount of annotated collected data.

Chatbots

In one aspect, the invention concerns a method of operating a chatbot to engage in a conversation with a correspondent the method comprises building a profile having plural profile variables for the correspondent; and during the conversation with the correspondent; selecting a node in the conversation data structure for processing based on the one or more profile variables, and processing the node to follow a conversation path based on the node's coded instructions and/or relationship with other nodes. In another aspect, the method comprises the steps of attempting to match the received input message with a node in the conversation data structure of the chatbot; if a matched node is found, selecting the matched node for processing; but if a matched node is not found, selecting a node for processing using a fuzzy search, or using a default procedure.

Concepts for providing an enhanced media presentation

Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for providing an enhanced media presentation. In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.
