Drive device
A drive device includes a fluid coupling and a rotary electrical machine. The fluid coupling is configured such that a torque is inputted thereto from a first side in an axial direction and is outputted therefrom to a second side in the axial direction. The rotary electrical machine includes a first stator and a rotor. The first stator is disposed in a non-rotatable manner. The rotor is disposed to be rotated about a rotational axis of the fluid coupling. The rotary electrical machine is disposed on the second side with respect to the fluid coupling in the axial direction. The rotary electrical machine overlaps the fluid coupling in an axial view.
TORQUE TRANSMISSION APPARATUS HAVING DRY-OPERATED SEPARATING CLUTCH
A torque transmission apparatus for transmitting a torque between a first drive element and an output element, including a torque converter, having a torque converter input, which is rotatable about a rotation axis (A) and is coupled to the first drive element, and a torque converter output, which can be connected to the output element. A separating clutch arranged outside of the torque converter and effectively between the first drive element and the torque converter, having a clutch input and a clutch output, which can be connected thereto by the action of a clutch actuating apparatus The clutch actuating apparatus having a pressure means chamber and a pressure means channel (K4) supplying said pressure means chamber with pressure means, and the separating clutch being dry-operated and the pressure means channel (K4) extending through the torque converter at least in portions.
P2 MODULE ARCHITECTURE
A device for power transmission between an output of a drive engine and an input of a transmission. The device includes a torque converter, an electric motor at least partially axially overlapping the torque converter, a damper system having an input adapted to be driven by the output of the drive engine, and a clutch coupled between the damper system and the torque converter and configured to connect and disconnect the damper with the torque converter.
INTEGRATED TORQUE CONVERTER AND P2 MODULE
An assembly for power transmission between an output of a drive engine and an input of a transmission. The assembly includes a torque converter and a P2 module that are axially engage and retained for flexibility in assembling of the assembly. The P2 module including a clutch and an electric motor.
Methods and system for starting an engine
Systems and methods for starting an engine that is incorporated into a hybrid vehicle driveline are described. In one example, a torque converter clutch is fully opened if a threshold amount has transpired after a request for torque converter clutch slip is requested but not delivered. Further, the torque converter clutch may be fully opened if a commanded torque converter clutch torque capacity is less than a threshold torque capacity.
Torque converter with sealed turbine shell and clutch cooling
A hybrid module for a hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The hybrid module has two clutches located radially inward of an electric motor, and in their own respective fluid chamber. Fluid from one chamber can cool one of the clutches. Then the fluid can travel axially to the other chamber to cool the other clutch. The hybrid module can include a wall assembly between the two clutches, separating the fluid chambers. After the fluid cools both clutches, the fluid is directed to the wall assembly, and passes through two walls, radially outwardly, to spray onto the electric motor to cool the motor.
Modular hybrid transmission
A modular hybrid transmission that provides for an improved support of the rotor as well as an improved cooling layout for the stator. The modular hybrid transmission has a rotating assembly and a housing assembly. The rotating assembly includes a rotor assembly, a rotor carrier hub that supports the rotor, and an input shaft. The rotor carrier is rotationally fixed on the input shaft. The housing assembly houses the rotating assembly, and includes a housing having an outer wall, a stator assembly connected to the outer wall, and a radially extending stationary wall that extends from the outer wall toward the output shaft. The stationary wall includes an axially extending wall portion that extends parallel to an outer surface of the input shaft, and a radial ball bearing supports the input shaft on this axially extending wall portion. Two stator cooling paths are channeled in the housing.
Hybrid electric vehicle with a combined torque converter and an electric propulsion motor
A transmission including an electric machine, a torque converter and a planetary gearset in a transmission housing that is connected to an engine. A turbine shaft is configured to transfer torque from the engine and the electric machine to the planetary gear set. A disconnect clutch selectively couples the input shaft from the engine to the torque converter housing of the torque converter. The disconnect clutch includes a disconnect clutch piston and a first balance dam. A torque converter clutch selectively connects the torque converter housing to the turbine and the turbine shaft. The torque converter clutch includes a torque converter clutch piston and a second balance dam. Ports in the housing permit automatic transmission fluid to flow between the turbine shaft and the torque converter clutch piston; the turbine shaft and the torque converter clutch piston; and the turbine shaft, the first balance dam, and the second balance dam.
VEHICLE DRIVE DEVICE
A vehicle drive device that includes a rotary electric machine that serves as a driving force source for wheels; a first rotation member coupled to a rotor of the rotary electric machine; and a fluid coupling that is disposed on an axial first side, which is one side in an axial direction with respect to the rotary electric machine, and that has a rotation housing.
