Seal for use in an extrusion device

A seal for use in an extrusion device for producing continuous profiles, in particular plastics pipes includes an elastic sealing disc, which is arranged in a plane approximately perpendicularly to the extrusion direction and has a through-passage opening letting through the continuous profile and having a sealing rim bearing against the continuous profile. Connection members are arranged along the sealing rim, and clamping elements are provided for exerting a force on the connection members, with the force acting radially with respect to the extrusion axis. The clamping elements are arranged in a plane parallel to the sealing disc, have a passage opening for the continuous profile and include connecting members for connecting the connection members to the clamping elements.

A method for making an absorbable microtube comprising the steps of a) extruding an absorbable polymer melt through a die to produce a molten extrudate; b) passing the molten extrudate vertically through an air gap ranging from about 0.1 to 0.5 inch as measured-from-the tip of the die to the surface of a liquid quenching medium to produce a quenched extrudate; and c) drawing the quenched extrudate to produce a drawn tube having an outer diameter of about 4 to about 12 mil; and an absorbable microtube that is made according to this method.

Apparatus for extrusion of thermoplastic handrail

A method and apparatus for extrusion of an article is provided. A die assembly can apply flows of thermoplastic material to an array of reinforcing cables to form a composite extrusion. A slider fabric can be bonded to one side of the composite extrusion. After exiting the die assembly, the slider fabric can act to support the extrudate as it passes along an elongate mandrel, which can cause the base of the slider fabric to change shape from a flat profile to the final internal profile of the article. The extruded article can then be cooled to solidify the material. The die can include cooling for the slider fabric and means for promoting penetration of the thermoplastic into reinforcing cables.

System and method for producing plastic products from recycled mixed plastic waste and plastic product

System and method for producing plastic products from a recycled plastic mix of unidentified, unclean and unsorted mixed plastic waste comprises the thermal and mechanical processing of the recycled plastic waste using continuous extrusion foaming, two-phase cooling, continuous metering of the pulling strength and automatic adjustment of the pulling speed and extrusion speed.
