Method and apparatus for managing congestion in a wireless system
Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate congestion control in a wireless communication system. As described herein, an access network and associated terminals can utilize a token bucket access control mechanism, through which respective terminals can be allotted access tokens and/or other units for access to the access network. For example, upon requesting access to a given network, a user of the network can determine whether sufficient access tokens have been accumulated, based on which the request can be selectively allowed or denied. As further described herein, multiple token bucket mechanisms can be utilized, which can correspond to respective packet flows or the like. Additionally, token bucket access control can be implemented as described herein in cooperation with conventional access persistence functionality. Further aspects described herein facilitate the adjustment of token bucket parameters for network access control based on network loading.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND CONTENT REPRODUCTION METHOD CONTROLLED BY THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a communicator configured to receive content from an external device via a network; a display configured to display the received content while the content is being received by the communicator; a processor; and a memory storing one or more programs executable by the processor. The one or more programs include instructions for buffering the received content, comparing a status of the network with a bitrate of the content, and determining when to start reproducing the content based on a result of the comparing.
Rate adaptation across asynchronous frequency and phase clock domains
A rate adaptation system includes a barrel shift slot register and a rate adaptation register. The barrel shift slot register includes a plurality of slots with one of a valid read request or a dummy read request. A rate adaptation register is configured to sequentially cycle through the slots of the barrel shift register in response to a clock providing valid read requests to a FIFO buffer and to skip provision of valid read requests for clock cycles of the first clock associated with slots that include dummy read requests. The rate adaption register may also receive data blocks from the FIFO buffer and provide those data blocks to another FIFO buffer.
Systems and methods for analyzing network metrics
The present solution is directed to systems and methods for providing, by a device intermediary to a plurality of clients and one or more servers, analytics on a stream of network packets traversing the device. The systems and methods include the device identifying, while the device manages network traffic between the plurality of clients and the one or more servers, a stream of network packets, from a plurality of streams of network packets of the network traffic traversing the device, corresponding to a flow identifier, e.g., a selected one of an internet protocol address, a uniform resource locator or an application identifier. The systems and methods may include a collector of the analytics engine collecting, while the device manages network traffic, metrics on the identified stream of network packets and generating one or more stream objects that comprise the collected metrics.
Optimizing buffer allocation for network flow control
Communication apparatus includes a memory, which is configured to hold data packets, having respective packet sizes, for transmission over a data link, and a transmitter, which is configured to transmit the data packets over the data link at a bit rate determined by a wire speed of the data link. A shaper is coupled to throttle transmission of the data packets by the transmitter responsively to the respective packet sizes, whereby some of the data packets are transmitted over the data link at a transmission rate that is less than the bit rate.
Link status buffer flow control management
Generally, this disclosure describes techniques for buffer management based on link status. A host platform may include a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) and a network controller that includes a buffer used by the BMC. When a network controller is in a lower power link state, the BMC may attempt to send data to the link partner which causes the network controller to transition out of the low power state. However, this transition may take longer than the buffer's ability to buffer the incoming flow from the BMC. Accordingly, to avoid the need for larger buffer space, a buffer manager is used to provide flow control management of the buffer based on link status.
Adaptive bit rate for data transmission
An adaptive bit rate system for use in transmitting data at adaptable bit rates. The bit rate may be adjusted according to historical behaviors and/or past operational settings, such as but not limited to adjusting a requested bit rate to a different bit rate depending the historical behavior.
Video adaptation for content-aware wireless streaming
Described herein are techniques related to wirelessly streaming content to a remote display device. Parameters are selected for the streaming based on content information received via an application programming interface (API) associated with a media player. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Systems and methods for reconfiguring data flow across network channels
The disclosed computer-implemented method for reconfiguring data flow across network channels may include (1) monitoring, in a replication environment, a first network channel and a second network channel that transmit replication data, where the first network channel transmits the replication data using a first network protocol and the second network channel transmits the replication data using a second network protocol that is different than the first network protocol, (2) identifying one or more characteristics of the first and second network channels, (3) obtaining one or more performance metrics of the first and second network channels, and (4) reconfiguring data flow within the replication environment based on both the characteristics and the performance metrics of the first and second network channels. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
Information processing system, information management apparatus, and data transfer control method
An information processing system includes: a management apparatus coupled to nodes to execute data transfer, wherein the management apparatus preforms operations to: acquire data transfer information in which a priority level of data transfer and an identifier of a node that executes the data transfer are associated with an identifier of the data transfer; identify, when receiving an execution instruction of first data transfer, one or more first nodes that execute second data transfer having a lower priority level than a priority level included in information of the first data transfer based on the data transfer information; and transmit, to each of the one or more first nodes, a stop request to stop the second data transfer, and a transfer request including the information of the first data transfer and information of a portion to be executed by the first node of the first data transfer by the first node.
