Pigment compositions containing chlorinated copper phthalocyanine pigments in the gamma crystal form
10711137 · 2020-07-14 · ·

The present technology is directed to pigment compositions having a pure, or substantially pure, crystal form, containing less chlorine than standard tetrachlorinated copper phthalocyanine pigments, while giving similar color space, chromaticity, fastness properties, and color travel in automotive waterborne and solvent borne systems. These pigments are more advantageous from a toxicity and environmental perspective, and allow the manufacturer to produce pigments in a safe and economical manner.

An object of the present invention is to provide an aqueous pigment dispersion that provides an aqueous ink for inkjet recording that contains a reduced number of coarse particles, is excellent in ejection stability, and is applicable to a printer equipped with a high-resolution inkjet head and to provide the aqueous ink for inkjet recording. The present invention relates to an aqueous pigment dispersion containing: a polymer (A) that has anionic groups, has a solubility in water of 0.1 g/100 mL or less and a number average molecular weight within the range of 1,000 to 6,000, and forms fine particles in water when the degree of neutralization of the anionic groups with a basic compound is 100%; a polyhalogenated metal phthalocyanine pigment or a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment; and water. The invention also relates to an aqueous ink for inkjet recording.

Colorant, colored resin composition comprising the same, and color filter
10647853 · 2020-05-12 · ·

The present invention relates to a colorant, a colored resin composition comprising the colorant, and a color filter prepared using the colored resin composition. A novel reddish yellow pigment may be used in combination with a green pigment and a yellow pigment in order to reduce the imbalance of the intramolecular polarization of the green pigment and/or the yellow pigment in the colorant. As a result, a color filter comprising a colored layer in which a light leakage phenomenon, caused by an electric field distortion, is reduced.

RESIN FOR UNIVERSAL SOLVENTBORNE PIGMENT DISPERSION

A copolymeric pigment dispersion resin derived from isobornyl (meth)acrylate and one or more other monomers has a number average molecular weight less than about 10,000 and is derived from sufficient isobornyl (meth)acrylate so that a 60 wt. % solution of the resin in propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate forms a clear solution when combined at room temperature with at least three times the resin weight of odorless mineral spirits. The resin may be compatibly mixed with solvent-borne coating compositions based on polar or on non-polar solvents, and can provide a single factory shader or point-of sale colorant formulation for tinting a wide range of such coating compositions.
