MANAGING BUFFERS FOR RATE PACING
A method, decoder and server for managing buffers for rate pacing. The decoder includes a memory, a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal, and processing circuitry operably connected to the memory and the transceiver. The processing circuitry receives, from the server, a removal rate message indicating a drain rate of a pacing buffer of the decoder. The processing circuitry also provides packets from the pacing buffer to a decoding buffer of the decoder according to the drain rate.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING RESOURCE UTILIZATION AND RESOURCE OPTIMIZATION
A system for monitoring resource utilization and optimization includes an entity system having a network communication interface and a memory device storing a resource monitoring and utilization application and a resource application. A processing device is operatively coupled to the memory device, wherein the processing device is configured to execute computer-readable program code to: determine based on the utilization of a resource application and/or a physical transaction related to the resource application to initiate the resource monitoring and utilization application; initiate the resource monitoring and utilization application to transmit information about the resource application to a user device.
QUALITY OF SERVICE (QoS) BASED DEVICE FOR ALLOCATING COMPUTE WORKLOADS TO HOSTS PROVIDING STORAGE AND NETWORK SERVICES IN SOFTWARE-BASED DATA CENTER
An Information Handling System (IHS) includes a processor device in communication with a network interface and a memory containing a queue of one or more virtual machine (VM) workloads. The processor device determines, based on monitored resource utilization, a constraining resource of a selected server that is performing one of storage services and network services and assigns a Quality of Service (QoS) threshold to the selected server based on the constraining resource. The processor device assigns VM workload/s, from among compute workloads, to a VM of the IHS based on requirements of the VM for resource utilization. In response to determining that the selected server has failed to satisfy the QoS threshold the predefined number of times over the monitoring interval, the processor device migrates at least one of the assigned VM workloads away from the selected server to another server of the IHS.
Method and system for accessing network service
According to an example, a web server receives an access request from one operator network of different operator networks, process the access request, and obtain processing data. The web server determines an output VIP address corresponding to an input VIP address carried in the access request according to a relationship between input VIP addresses and output VIP addresses of VS clusters of the different operator networks, and sends the processing data to a VS cluster indicated by the output VIP address via an internal network. The VS cluster selects one VS, and the VS selected sends the processing data to a user terminal via an external network.
System and method for characterizing network traffic
A system monitors first traffic and identifies associations between applications that generated or received the traffic and parameters such as domain names, a remote host, and a local host referenced in the traffic. Subsequent traffic is monitored and determined to be generated by or addressed to an application according to such parameters in the subsequent traffic, such as remote host, local host, domain name, or port number. The subsequent traffic is associated with an application without requiring deep packet inspection (DPI). In particular, an application may be associated with a session based on evaluation of a single packet of the session.
Fine-Granularity Resource Control Method and Apparatus
Disclosed are a fine-grained resource control method and apparatus. The method includes: defining, for a function of which resource usage is needed to be restricted, a license item in a license file, wherein the license item is used for representing a resource restriction number for supporting the function; and judging whether a preferential support command is preset for resources of the function, if presetting, controlling the resources of the function according to the preferential support command, a value of the license item and an actual resource number for supporting the function, otherwise, controlling the resources of the function directly according to the value of the license item and the actual resource number for supporting the function.
HYBRID CLOUD DEPLOYMENT FOR HYBRID UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS
A hybrid unified communications (UC) cloud system includes a global UC virtual data center and a plurality of regional UC virtual data centers (VDCs). Each regional VDC includes a regional system manager that manages a set of regional UC resources. Associated endpoint devices operate in at least one respective multi-tenant regional cloud and to employ corresponding regional UC resources thereof, operating in at least one service cluster of the respective multi-tenant regional cloud, to communicate real-time media traffic with respect to the associated endpoint devices. A regional resource manager provides status information to the regional system manager, based on utilization of resources, to control scaling of the regional UC resources responsive to the status information. The global UC virtual data center includes a global system manager to manage the regional UC VDCs and coordinates orchestration of UC resources between and/or among the regional UC VDCs.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RESTRICTING NETWORK ACCESS
Various embodiments of systems, apparatus, and/or methods are described for restricting user devices from accessing a communication network. In one implementation, multiple user devices are assigned to a user profile. At least one access parameter is designated for the user profile. An access device monitors data usage, time usage, and content usage of each of the devices associated with the user profile. In some examples, the access device may consolidate the data usage and time usage of all of the devices. If one or more of the consolidated data usage, consolidated time usage, or content usage violates the access parameter of the user profile, the access device restricts at least one of the multiple user devices from accessing the communication network.
Method and system for policy based lifecycle management of virtual software appliances
A system and method for managing dynamically allocated resources assigned to a service includes providing a service to be used by a plurality of sites in a federation. Usage information associated with the service is communicated to each of the plurality of sites. A disposition of the service is determined based on local policies and the usage information received from other sites by a service owner. The disposition of the service is updated across a plurality of sites in accordance with messages sent by the service owner to reduce resource usage.
Method and arrangement for admission control based on priority level based differentiation
The invention relates to a network node and a method therein for admission control in a wireless communication system. The method comprises receiving a request for a bearer setup from a requesting entity, where the request and/or bearer is associated with a priority level P. The method further comprises obtaining, e.g. receiving or retrieving, reports indicating a priority blocking level, BLi, per monitored system resource, i, needed for setting up a bearer. The method further comprises determining a general priority blocking level BLG, based on the reports. Further, the method comprises deciding whether to accept or reject the request for a bearer setup based on the priority level P and the general priority blocking level BLG.
