The present invention provides a method of cultivating a selenium-rich Cyclocarya paliurus plant, comprising use of a selenium-rich organic fertilizer during the cultivation, wherein the selenium-rich organic fertilizer comprises a selenium-rich yeast, a humic acid, an amino acid, a plant growth regulator and a foliar penetration enhancer. The present invention also provides a method for extracting active ingredients of the selenium-rich Cyclocarya paliurus plant obtained by the above method, comprising pretreatment, extraction, concentration and alcohol precipitation to obtain a crude extract.
