A fertilizer composition comprising a base composition, a plurality of wool pellets comprising wool, and at least one animal product selected from the group consisting of blood meal, meat and bone meal, fish meal, and tankage. Related methods of forming the fertilizer composition comprise providing a plurality of wool pellets to a base composition, adding the at least one animal product to the base composition, and mixing the plurality of wool pellets, the at least one animal product, and the base composition to form a fertilizer composition comprising the plurality of wool pellets, the at least one animal product, and the base composition. Related methods of providing at least one nutrient to a plant are also described.

A composition comprising herbicidal mixtures of mesotrione impregnated into or coated on the surface of a granular substrate material such as a fertilizer granule and/or a solid inert carrier material is provided for use to control weeds in turfgrasses without causing damage to the grass and methods for the use thereof.

A method of fertilizing a plant comprises applying to a plant an effective amount of a composition comprising a product of a salicylic acid, a potassium polyphosphite, a potassium phosphite, and a potassium phosphate. The composition may be prepared by reacting salicylic acid, ammonium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and/or potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid, and phosphorous acid.

Compositions and methods are provided for benefiting plant growth. In particular aspects, the compositions contain a biologically pure culture of Bacillus sp. D747 strain (deposited as FERM BP-8234) and an insecticide in a formulation suitable for dissolution in a liquid fertilizer.

Herein is disclosed the use of acicular wollastonite grains for killing grubs and method of making the grains. The method includes applying acicular wollastonite grains having an aspect ratio of at least about 5:1 to the ground at an area density of about 0.5 to about 6 mt per acre, with higher amounts in this range chosen for very bad grub infestations. The method of producing the acicular wollastonite grains having an aspect ratio of at least about 5:1, includes feeding wollastonite feedstock into a milling apparatus in conjunction with a screen mechanism. The milling apparatus and screen mechanism have parameters selected to produce acicular wollastonite grains having an aspect ratio of at least about 5:1, which can optionally then be fed to a cyclone where the acicular wollastonite grains are collected.

An agricultural spray may be produced by admixing citric acid and glutamic acid with a metal salt and a pesticide or other agricultural chemical containing components capable of precipitating with the metal salt in the admixture. The citric acid and the glutamic acid chelate with the metal salt to provide a stability and compatibility-enhancing composition, thereby preventing the metal salt from forming an insoluble solid within the admixture. Such a composition may be produced by admixing citric acid and glutamic acid at a molar ratio of about 6.8:0.5 to about 1:0.29. The composition may include a metal sat, citric acid and glutamic acid in a molar ratio of about 1:6.8:0.5 to about 1:1:0.29 and a pesticide.

A pesticide composition includes at least one biologically inert carrier; and at least one ferrite or at least one doped component including at least one fixed copper compound doped with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of iron compounds, zinc compounds, magnesium compounds, calcium compounds, and combinations and/or mixtures thereof. In one embodiment, the doped component has a particle size of about 0.5 nm to about 30 microns. A method for the control of pests includes the step of applying to the pests or their growth habitat the aforementioned composition. The method also includes the control of fungal and other diseases in banana plants, by applying the aforementioned composition to their growth habitat in banana plant groves.
