The processing device may include an input interface for receiving data units containing header information of respective packets; a first module configurable to perform packet filtering based on the received data units; a second module configurable to perform traffic analysis based on the received data units; a third module configurable to perform load balancing based on the received data units; and a fourth module configurable to perform route lookups based on the received data units.

METHOD AND APPRATUS FOR CONTROLLING NETWORK TRAFFIC
20170272365 · 2017-09-21 ·

A method for managing a network traffic of a radio access network, the method comprising steps of identifying, by a processor of a baseband unit (BBU), at least one characteristic of a data traffic received from at least one user equipment, and determining, by the processor, whether to process locally at an edge node or at a remote service network in response to the at least one characteristic of the data traffic received from the user equipment.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for implementing a policy for a router
09769053 · 2017-09-19 · ·

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for implementing a policy for a router are disclosed. One method includes providing a meta administrator interface configured to facilitate the specification of one or more rules that form a policy definition. The method further includes automatically generating, based on the policy definition, an administrator interface for inputting rule data associated with the policy definition. Even further, the method includes storing the input rule data in one or more data structures associated with a router.

MULTI-RATE HIGH-SPEED BUS WITH STATISTICAL AGGREGATOR
20170264457 · 2017-09-14 ·

A single high-speed bus accommodates both low-rate and high-rate bi-directional signal traffic by interleaving the traffic at the two rates sequentially so that all the data in the bus at any given time is either high-rate or low-rate. The interleaving is executed by a statistical aggregator according to a policy tailored to the traffic expected in the particular bus. The policy may be static and predetermined, or it may be dynamic and adaptive. Adaptive policies are continually updated with predictions of future traffic based on the statistics of past and/or present traffic. The technique may be implemented in both on-chip and system-level bus interfaces.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATED CLASSIFICATION OF APPLICATION NETWORK ACTIVITY
20170262522 · 2017-09-14 ·

The disclosed computer-implemented method for automated classification of application network activity may include (1) building a lexicon dictionary that comprises lexical keywords, wherein network streams whose headers contain a given lexical keyword represent communications of an activity type that is associated with the given lexical keyword in the lexicon dictionary, (2) identifying, at a network vantage point, a network stream that represents a communication between an application and a server, (3) extracting, through a lexical analysis that utilizes the lexicon dictionary, a set of keywords from one or more header fields of the network stream, and (4) classifying the network stream based on activity types associated with each keyword in the set of keywords that were extracted from the header fields of the network stream. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

EMPLOYING SESSION LEVEL RESTRICTIONS TO LIMIT ACCESS TO A REDIRECTED INTERFACE OF A COMPOSITE DEVICE
20170264649 · 2017-09-14 ·

Session level restrictions can be implemented to limit access to a redirected interface of a composite device. These session level restrictions can be defined within a policy of a directory service, such as Active Directory, to facilitate the dynamic application of the restrictions to the appropriate remote sessions. In this way, access restrictions can be applied to individual interfaces of a redirected composite device so that a particular interface will only be accessible from specified remote sessions.

Method and apparatus for PCC enhancement for flow based mobility

Systems and methods are described that facilitate multiple registrations and flow based mobility in a wireless communication network. A flow routing component can be included in a mobile device, home agent/p-gateway, or a policy and charging rules function server that determines the manner in which to route one or more IP flows through a set of network access entry points. The flow routing component can determine the routing based on a set of policies and/or network data, such as quality of service requirements, bandwidth requirements, network congestion, currently active IP flows, and so forth.

TRAFFIC CLASSIFICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

This application provides a traffic classification method and apparatus. The method includes: determining, based on distribution characteristics of concerned bits of a plurality of rules in a first rule set, an effective bit corresponding to the first rule set; determining a hash key value of each rule based on a value of the effective bit of each rule in the first rule set, and storing each rule in the first rule set in at least one of S storage units based on the hash key value, where the first rule set is any one of N rule sets, the N rule sets are stored in the S storage units; and when traffic classification is performed, searching for a corresponding rule in each of the S storage units based on a hash key value of a search key.
