A sheathed elongated profile, that is, shaped product, is disclosed. The elongated profile may include a main profile body that is at least partially sheathed in a first synthetics component. The elongated profile may also include at least one disposal, that is, protrusion, on the main profile body that is not completely sheathed in the first synthetics component and at least partially sheathed in a second synthetics component. Methods and devices for producing the elongated profile are also disclosed.

The manufacturing apparatus further comprises: an inner deckel for dividing the resin plate and pre-forming a thick section; and a main molding section provided on the first roller and/or the second roller for molding a non-uniform thickness section from the thick section.

A head is disclosed for use with an additive manufacturing system. The head may include a housing, and a matrix reservoir disposed inside of the housing. The head may also include at least one roller located inside of the housing and configured to engage at least one of a ribbon and a sheet of reinforcement passing through the head. The head may further include a nozzle fluidly connected to the matrix reservoir, and a cure enhancer located outside of the housing and adjacent the nozzle.
Extrusion die for making film, fibers, and nanofibers
An extrusion die includes a die body with two mating die halves, at least one of which is engraved with a die cavity system. The die cavity system includes a melt inlet, a first-stage melt reservoir in fluid communication with the melt inlet, a plurality of melt channels extending from the first-stage melt reservoir, and an extrusion trough in fluid communication with the melt channels and extending across the die half. Multiple stages of reservoirs and channels may be used. The melt channels in each stage have an equal length and cross-sectional area. Some of the melt channels may have a curved portion to maintain an equal length with other melt channels in the same stage. The die halves are secured by a plurality of fasteners. A method for extruding a fluid using the die is also provided. The die may be used to create films or fibers, including nano-fibers.
EXTRUSION DIE HAVING ADJUSTABLE END SEAL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
An extrusion die is provided with an adjustable end seal assembly. The extrusion die includes a die body, and the adjustable end seal assembly includes an end seal device and a wedge mechanism. The adjustable end seal assembly has an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration. When in the engaged configuration, the adjustable end seal assembly is held forcibly against the die body. When in the disengaged configuration, the adjustable end seal assembly is either spaced apart from the die body or held against the die body with less force than when in the engaged configuration. Methods of operating such an extrusion die are also provided.
Film with Layered Segments and Apparatus and Method for Making the Same
A film having first segments and second segments arranged across the film's width direction is disclosed. The first and second segments are separated from each other by polymer interfaces. The first segments include a first polymeric composition and the second segments include a second polymeric composition. At least some of the second segments are layered second segments having first and second layers in the film's thickness direction, and one of the first or second layers includes a third polymeric composition different from the second polymeric composition. An extrusion die useful for making the film and a method for making the film using the extrusion die are also disclosed.
